Architecture is not only about creating spaces but also shaping experiences and emotions
INTRODUC TION
Rainier Preserved is a mixed-use building located in the center of Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood at the southeast corner of the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street.
The central Rainier Beach area has a mix of residential and commercial buildings as well as multiple schools, churches, libraries, and a community center that are vital elements of social infrastructure. The community thrives on stimulating a lively neighborhood by creating and providing activities and events, such as local farmer markets and community clubs where people can interact and participate.
Thus, an essential and meaningful intervention would significantly ignite and support the community to grow substantially and become a more sustainable neighborhood in upcoming future. The new mixed-use Rainier Preserved provides a ordable housing and retails and commercial space at the ground floor, encouraging business and engaging the community.

The system aims to pursue net zero energy by utilizing and integrating natural thermal and air as much as possible. The ventilation system is only for balancing in the case of a drastic climate. In other words, the building should not rely on electricity but only on natural resources.
How the System Work?
Two thermostats will detect the temperature at the center of each wing and then the average value. The heating coil from the ventilators would adjust the temperature automatically to around 68 degrees Fahrenheit for the corridor. However, when the corridor temperature exceeds the limit, the ventilator will start and provide cooling to lower the temperature to the number.
Fresh air is controlled via carbon monoxide readers installed near the thermostats. The corridor should have 0.5 to 5 parts per million (ppm). There is also an HVAC damper on each wing, which regulates airflow in response to the decent amount of carbon monoxide.
The solar panels are installed on the flat roof floor. Thus, there is no other direction for the solar panel to face. However, the roof becomes walkable due to the strength of the PV panels.

SHEAR WALLS AS THE LATERAL BRACING TYPE
The main goal of the design intervention is to establish a landmark on the site. Thus, the design must stand out and distinguish from other rectangular and square shapes. Organic and curvy forms create flow, circulation, and attractiveness through the structure.
The ground floor is mainly commercial and retails, which are concrete post-tension structure. The post-tension creates a long span with fewer columns, which helps to maximize and organize better.
The upper levels are CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) structure system, which does not require structural complexity, yet is straightforward and affordable to construct. As shown from the model, shear walls are the main component that takes all the lateral force, which gets along well with housing units and division. Moreover, shear walls form a simple structure, yet functional as well.

INTRODUC TION
Public libraries are one of the most important institutions in American society today. While libraries have existed as repositories of knowledge since ancient times, the institution of a free public library is a unique aspect of our community. With social and technological changes, libraries have been adapting to provide services beyond books and information. Among their expanding roles, many libraries today are vital sources of temporary shelter and community services for the unhoused and others in need.
Since the great depression, food banks and food pantries have also become vital charitable institutions in our cities, serving those who lack access to a ordable nutrition. This project envisions a hybrid typology combining the educational and support services of a public library branch and the community nutrition assistance of a food bank. Provisionally called a “Food Library,” this new typology is intended to provide direct access to food, education, resources, and assistance in food literacy, gardening, and community nutritional resilience.

INTRODUC TION
The main idea of this design is to create a gathering space for people to enjoy the environment around the Boulder Creek. However, it is specially built for most CU students to hang out with friends and do school works. In fact, the design is located close to the east campus which would become a decent place for graduate students to come and relax. Moreover, the bridge serves two purposes. One is to function as a typical bridge. Two is to establish a small landmark for what people desire.
The Boulder Creek path is about 5.5 miles long and runs through Boulder Canyon on the west end and Stazio Ballfields on the east end. The trail is maintained jointly by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Public Works Department's Greenways Program.
FORONOI LAMP

INTRODUC TION
PROCESS
Fouronoi Lamp has created from Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) sheet, which is cheap and economical material. It has four layers that create texture to the light. The first three layers from the outside have Voronoi diagram patterns, which are the biggest to smallest Voronoi. The most inside has a unique design that also has a Japanese paper to spread the light
Corners of the lamp were created by a specific pattern that allows the matterial to bend, so there is no need for a join to connect each piece. Besides, each surface has two holes for dowels to attach the other sides.
The front surfaces were colored by water spray which creates a smooth texture. Besides, it gives a beautiful contrast between the black and wood color.
The lamp is easy to assemble. Plus, the componenets of the lamp would be economical to ship. Before the assemblage, the lamp has four pieces, and four dowels which they could be fit in an envelope. Overall, the lamp could be used in many places such as in a restaurant, cafe, etc.

INTRODUC TION
The space used for this project is a residential design from the ARCH 503 studio project. The site is located at South Handerson Street and Rainer Avenue South. The building design is a 5-over-1 structure. The first floor is a concrete platform operated as commercials and the lobby. The upper floors are CLT light wood framing structures, functioning as residential. The designed locations are a lobby and a residential corridor. The goal is to create a warm, modern, and luxurious sensation to welcome residents. The lobby has lighting components that attract and pull people to stay. Light fixtures could also highlight furniture, art, pathways, and ceilings. Luminaries should be minimal but essential and highlight architectural elements. The lobby is one of the most significant areas for residential. It serves many purposes, such as a welcoming space and main entrance for residences, and a mailroom for delivery. Thus, the lobby has to create a sensation that makes people feel comfortable, safe, and easy to guide through.
