Western Pine Associqtion Holds Semi-Annucl Meeting

The Western Pine Association's semi-annual meeting was held at the Multnomah Hotel, Portland, August 11 and L2.

As usual the first day was devoted to committee meetings at which conservation, grading, promotion, research, statistics, and traffic were discussed.

On the second day addresses were given by S. V. Fullaway, secretary manager; W. E,. Griffee, assistant secertary manager, and Ernest Kolbe, chief forester for the Association.

New information on the fire resistance of structural clav facing tile is published in a research report of the Structural Clay Products Institute, Roy A. Shipley, its presi_ dent, announced today.,

"This report recommends, for the first time, fire resist_ ance ratings up to three hours for four inch and six inch structural ,clay facing tile walls. So important are these new finding:,]' Mr. Shipley said, "that the report is being sent to specification writers in all national insuran,ce code writing bureaus, as well as municipal, regional, and na_ tional building code authorities.
