Appointed Factory Representative In Southern California
Virgil Oliver has been appointed factory representative of M and M Wood Working Company in Southern California, Arizona and Nel,v Mexico, vi.ce president Thomas B. Malarkey has announced. To bring better service to M and M customers, he has a telephone installed in his automobile and. also uses a four-place Navion airplane to cover his territory. His office is located at Z90Z Rowena Street in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining M and M, Mr. Oliver operated the Oliver Lumber Company in Los Angeles for two years. From 1943 to 1947 he was in lumber manufacturing with
E. W. Loughland, the company being known first as Wood Specialties Company and later as Oliver-Loughland Company. He has also worked in various departments of W. E. Cooper Lumber Company, Los Angeles, and as manager of the wholesale lumber department of L. D. Reeder Company, Los Angeles.
Mr. Oliver was born in Oklahoma but came to Southern California as a child. He attended schools in Inglewoocl, California. He is a member of Larchmont Masonic Lodge, Los Angeles Scottish Rite Consistory, Al Malaikah Shrine Temple, Los Angeles Hoo-Hoo Club, Universal Duck Club of Wasco, Calif. and Lakeside Golf Club of Holly- wood. He lives in North Hollywood with his wife, the former Helen Janes of Racine, Wisconsin, and their two children.

Joe M. Crahane, Forest Products Co. Ore. Ltd., Brownsville, Oregon, was elected president of the Western Forest Industries Association at the annual meeting, held in Corvallis, Oregon, June 11. R. U. Bronson, Trio Lumber Co., Eugene, Oregon; Walter G. Brix, Aberdeen, Wash., and J. H. Jones, Golden Gate Lumber Co., Eug'ene, Oregon, were elected vice presidenis. Geo. E. Owen, Eugene, lvas elected secretarytreasurer, and R. T. Titus, Portland, was reelected executive vice president.
