Changes Announced In George E, Ream Company

Change in management of the George E. Iteam Co'mpany was announced by Martin W. Degeller, President of the Harbor Plywood Corporation, effective May 12th.

M. S. Munson replaces George E. Ream as Manager. W. J Rawlings, Manager of the Harbor Plywood Corporation of California was elected vice president of the Ream Company. In addition to his responsibilities as manager of the San Francisco and Oakland branches, he will be active in the conduct of the Los Angeles business.

The Ream organization is a subsidiary of the Harbor Plyrvood Corporation, Hoquiam, Washington, pioneer manufacturers of weatherproof plywood and other types of panels. Their trade names, Super Harbord, Harborite, Harbord, and Giant panels are favorably known to the lumber dealer trade, who sell these products and those who actually use them. This manu{acturer's quality merchandise has always been handled on an ethical lumber dealer sales basis via branch warehouses and through established distributors, and their policies have been accepted as a distribution model by the trade.

The George E. Ream Company, located at 235 South Alameda Street, Los Angeles, was established in October, 1937, by the Harbor people as a distribution branch to serve the Southern California dealer trade. George E. Ream has been in charge of the branch, until his resignation on May l2th. The Company distributes a complete line of building products to dealers in addition to the parent company's plywoods, including the complete line of Celotex.Insulation and hardboard units and roofings, the Upson wallboard line, roll and batt insulations, Sisalkraft, building papers, nails, netting and related lines' The Company's warehouse is centrally located rvith excellent receiving and shipping facilities for Pick-uP'

Mr. Munson, the new manager, is a widely experienced plywoocl man, having been in charge of Harbor's trade promotion activities for the past 12 years' and in addition, in charge of the organization's miscellaneous sales department. Prior to his entry into the plywood industry fifteen years ago, he was with the Exchange Sawmills Sales Company, Kansas City. In speaking of his new responsibility Mr. Munson said, "We are enlarging our sales and service organization, replenishing our stocks of merchandise and otherwise doing those things that will give tangible meaning in these competitive times to our branch's slogan of 'Frigndly Dealer Service.' Cars of new merchandise have beei delivered or are in transit, and this firm will be more than ever a real service to the dealer trade."

The 8th annual Willamette Valley golf tournament and funfest will be held at the Eugene Country Club on Friday, June 10.

John Vosmek is general chairman of committees for the event, which is expected to draw a large attendance, as in previous years.
