New Goodman Lumber Co. Store Opened Mcy 2

The beautiful new store of Goodman Lumber Co-, 445 Bay Shore Boulevard, San Francisco, had its official opening May 2. Their old store was completely destroyed by fire about a year ago. The stock includes lumber and all kinds of building materials. A new floor covering department has been added, featuring linoleum, rugs, and carpets.

Another department has an extensive display of Hotpoint appliances and Youngstown kitchens' Edward Goodman is the owner.

Gates Ferguson, advertising manager of The Celotex Corporation, Chicago, was the principal speaker at a Harbor Plyrvood-Celotex Corporation dinner dealer meeting May 4, at the Alexander Hamilton Hotel, San Francisco.

Plane Saves Executives' Time

A. S. Murphy, president, The Pacific Lumber Company, San Francisco. and Kenneth Smith, assistant to the president, left May 4 in the company's private plane-a converted F.Z3-'for Chicago. Mr. Murphy continued on to New York, and Mr. Smith and Carl W. Bahr, Eastern sales manager, Chicago, by using the plane were able to call on most of the company's sales representatives and distributors east of the Mississippi. Mr. Murphy and Mr' Smitlr returned to San Francisco May 20.

Northwestern Ccrlilornicr Lumbermens Club Holds Dinner Dqnce

The dinner dance of the Northwestern California Lumbermen's Club , held on Thursday evening, May 19, at the Eureka Inn, Eureka, was a most enjoyable and successful afiair, with an attendance of. about 275.

President Derby Bendorf, of The Pacific Lumber Company, Scotia, presided at the dinner.

Exhibited ct S. F. Boat Show

Servente Hardwood Co., San Francisco, had an attractive exhibit at the San Francisco Boat Show, April 20 to May 2, at the Civic Auditorium' The exhibit showed many kinds of hardwoods used in boat building, each piece showing the wood rough, surfaced, and finished. The exhibit included a piece of bending oak in the shape of the letter S.
