George E. Ream Becomes Vice President Of The \(/estern Hardwood Lumber Company

Western Hardwood Lumber Company, of Los Angeles, announced on May 24th that George E. Ream, of Los Angeles, formerly with George D. Ream Company, had become actively associated rvith that concern. He has been elected a vice president of the company, and is identified with the plyu'ood, door and kindred lines departments. He is also a member of the company. He moved into the Western offices at once.

Frank J. Connolly, president, and Glenn Cahill, first vice president of Western, join in making the announcement that the addition of Mr. Ream to their active staff is a matter of great satisfaction to them. Mr. Ream r'vill be directly associated u,ith Mr. Cahill in the operation of the department whicl.r the latter has built into a prominent and successful part of the \Vestern business.

George Ream is, since he is one of the very bg51 knorvn and most respected personalities in the lumber and building rnaterials business in Southern California, and has been for many years. A building material man all his life, he started tn 1922 as manager of miscellaneous building material sales for Kerckhoff & Cuzner, of Los Angeles, which position he held until 1937, at u'hich time he organized the George E. Ream Company. For the past twelve years he has operated that concern as one of the leading rvholesalers and 'ivarehouse distributors of plywood and other building materials in the entire state. The name George E. Ream has become one to conjure rvith in the building material busiNCSS.

His association rvith a great concern like Western Hardwood gives him a splendid opportunity to exercise his unquestioned business genius, and new and interesting lines of merchandise will be added to Western's present splendid set-up.

Stephen G. Freeman in New Wholescrle Lumber Business

Stephen G. Freeman reports that he is norv operating a wholesale lumber business in Balboa, California,.the business having started several u'eeks ago, and that he represents in that territory several large Oregon sawmills. Carload shipments only. He is located at l53Z I\firamar Avenue. During the rvar he skippered various transports, freighters, and tankers for the government, and still holds his master's ticket.
