Noyo Soil Booster Mqkes Bow in 'Sunsef'
The Noyo Chemical & Fibre division of Union Lumber Company introduces its new product, Noyo Soil Booster, in a large color ad in the April issue of Sunset Magazine, reaching a half million California garden fans. With Noyo Soil Booster already available in a number of lumberyards, the Sunset series of ads and merchandising push is expected to greatly broaden distribution as well as substantially increase demand.
A product of redwood research at Union Lumber's Chemical and Fibre plant at Fort Bragg, Noyo Soil Booster is a conditioner rather than a fertilizer, according to Sherman A. Bishop, vice-president in charge of sales. The bark is washed, factionated and chemically processed to give the properties desirable for effective and lasting soil conditioning.
Applied lightly around root systems or mixed with the top soil, Noyo Soil Booster improves friability, moisture retention, soil aeration and reduces water bills. Unlike peat moss, which requires frequent replacement, Noyo Soil Booster, in addition to providing immediate workability, is gradually converted toi long life humus. The exclusive Noyo chemical process pene-j trates each particle which assures nutritional values for yearsr to come. Bishop points out that pound for pound, the productt in one of the most economical soil conditioners available.
