Ilc rvas borrr in Kcntucky 70 years ago, and spent 54 c()nsccutivc years in the lumbcr business, starting as a boy of 16 with Cole & Crane, Cincinnati, hardwood manfacturcrs, who at one time operated 14 band mills. He was later a partner in thc firm of McPhcc & McGinty, Denver, for many )'ears. FIc camc to the Pacific Coast in 1933. He \virs associatcd with lte<lrvoocl Manufacturers, Pittsburg, Calif. for a ferv years, rvas later rvith Ralph L. Smith Lumber Co., and with Fcather Falls Pine Mills. He had been with Monarch Lumber Corp. since 1943.
Hc is survived by his wiclow, Mrs. Luella Orr; two sons, Thomas J. Orr, Jr., and Robert G. Orr, and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Sweney of Cincinnati.

Langford W. Smith, 65, passed away in Berkeley, JanLrary 23. tle rvas born in Minneapolis, and came to California in 1904. He was a graduate of the University of California. He was formerly sales mana[ier for Red River I-umber Co., and for the past several years operated a manufacturers' agency in San Francisco. Hc is stlrvived by his son, L. Wheaton Smith of Palo Alto, and tlvo sisters.
J. S. Jones
J. S. Jones, 71, passed away February 9 in Los Angeles, where he had lived since 1944. He was at one time owner of the Savings Loan Association in El Centro and part owner of the Valley Lumber Co., with yards in El Centro and Calexico. He lived in the Imperia"l Valley for 35 years before moving to Los Angeles in 1944.
