1. The objective of the lumber inclustry in the redwood region is to attempt to procluce a greater future volume of forest products to nreet thc future r.reeds of :r gron'ing populatiotr.

2. It is believed that this objective can best be implementecl by:

(a) Obtaining a more complete utilization of each tree and each acre of timber land harvested.

(b) Maintaining a permanent interest in the cutover lands to insure full tree gror,ving capacity.

(c) Incrcasing and insuring thc long-range supply of r;uality timber through thc orderly removal of mature trccs by selcctivc cutting practiccs, arrrl tlrc prcscrvati()rt Of thc immature trces.

(lr) Thc o\\,ller u'ill assure thc California Redlvood r\ssociation of his willingness to maintain the land designated as a "Tree Farnr" in a cor.rdition t<t pro<luce forcst crops under goo<l forest practices.

(b) The o\\rner lvill provide reasonable protection fronr fire ancl other damage, including excessive grazing.

(c) The owner rvill han'est the crop of standing timber on his Tree Farm in a manner which will :rssure future crops.

(d) The orvner rvill f urnish information concerning his Tree Farm tvhen reqnested to do so by the California Redrvoocl Association. Such information n'ill embrace progress, future plans, improvements, protection and cutting practices.

Qualification

1. Arry ou-ner of tirnber land in the redwood region rvho is rvilling to subscribe to tl.re above principles may make application to the California Red.n'ood Association for certification of a Tree Farm.
