Dicmond Match Co. Acquires l06th Betcril Lumber Yard

Acrluisition of its 71st California retail lumber yard and building supply store has been announced by The l)iamond Match Company. Joseph E. Duffey, Diamond vice president, said the new yard is in Turlock, California, and had l;een acquired from the Service Lumber Company. Austin lleede is manager of the yard.

The acquisition raises to 106 the total of retail Iumber yards and building supply stores operated by The Diamond Match Cornpany' Of these 3.5 are in the New Englancl States, and the balance on the West Cr>ast.

Opens Logging Railrocrd

Sno'uv ploughs have opened the logging railroad o{ the Southrvest l-umber I\{ills, Inc., McNary, Ariz., betu'een Maverick and McNary. The open rvinter has made it possible to clear the rail line earlier than usual.

Operations at Sottthlvest's mill have continued without delay during the winter as a large stock of logs were accumulated last summer and fall. Also in full operation throughout the winter were the moulding factory and planing mill.
