The Los Angeles Hoo-Hoo Christmas party held at the Oakmont Country Club, Glendale, on Friday evening, December 15 was a big success. About 300 were present for dinner and the evening entertainment. There was a sparkling Christmas tree on the stage and attractive holiday deborations on the tables, which made a beautiful setting.

$200 was collected and a 16" custom-built television set was purchased and presented to the LeRoy's Boys Home at LaVerne.

86 golfers took part in the tournament in the afternoon, and John Lipani presented the prizes. The winners were : low gross, Davidson Plywood & I-umber Co. trophy, Bob Mason, Gillcraft Furniture Co.; first low net, first flight, George Ream trophy, Sid Simmons, Simnrons Hardwood Co. i second low net, first flight, The California Lumber Merchant trophy, Jerry Brenner, Metz Co. ; first low net, second flight, Weyerhaeuser Sales Company trophy, M. Ii. Guill, Mahogany Importing Co.; second low net, second fight, Roy Stanton trophy, Barney McCay, American Hardrvood Co. Golf balls were awarded to the winners of the various special events.

Merchandise orders were awarded as door prizes and the winners holding the lucky numbers were: Huntly Wark $20, R. R. Kennedy $10, D. C. Essley $10, K. Ings 95, Bob Price $20, Frank Harris $5, George Lounsberry $10, Harl Crockett $5, and Bill Krumm $10.

The entertainment program was greatly enjoyed by the large gathering and inclqded Audrey Hass and Pat Paradise in dance numbers, Jimmy Conlin and Dorothy Ryan in a comedy sketch, and Ilederl and Mattson in songs. Charles Pickard was master of ceremonies and Jess Colbert was accompanist. The entertainment was furnished by the Walter Trask Theatrical Agency of Los Angeles.

The Christmas fund conrmittee included Bob Osgood, Ed Bauer and George Clough. John Lipani, Russell l3ond, Orrin Wright and Harvey Koll were in charge of the golf tournament.

President Orval Stewart presided at the after dinner festivities. Dee Essley, with George Meyers as accompanist on the guitar, led the gathering in group singing.

J. H. Bcrxter & Co. Occupy Whole l4th Floor

J. H. Ilaxter & Co., rvidely knotvn treated lumber specialists, with plants in Northern and Southern California, arrd in Northern and l,lastern Oregon, moved their offices early in December to 2@ Bush Street, San Francisco. They occupy the rvhole 14th floor in this fine building, ar-rd in addition H. X. Baxter, the president, has his private office in the penthouse.

The private offices are occupied by C. H. Chadbourne, general manager; W. W. Jackson, general sales manager, and R. K. McCulloch, district sales manager. A notable featurc of the nerv offices is the splendid lighting.
