Strong evidence of the renewed interest in hardwood floors was demonstrated by a full class of 5l students attending the second Hardwood Flooring Installation School in Memphis, Tn.

The school is sponsored jointly by the American Parquet Association and the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association.

With students from 25 states.

lllt0S 0t session of laying out and nailing a strip oak floor is lab work for students at enrollment was almost double that of the first session held this year. Included were representatives of fl ooring manufacturers, distributors, dealers and installation firms. Job titles ranged from business owners through managers, sales personnel and floor installers.

Claude Taylor, director of sales for Memphis Hardwood Flooring Co., and school committee chairman, commented, "This big tur- nout is extremely gratifying. It is quite evident that people in all facets of the industry are aware of the growing demand for hardwood floors and the need to know proper installation techniques. "

The school was organized to help overcome the shortage of experienced flooring installers which has become more pronounced with the renewed demand for wood floors.
