November l3-15 in Dallas, Tx.

The North American Wholesale Lumber Association expects minimal tweaking for the Sth edition of its popular show. Organizers don't want to mess with a good thing: to gather under one roof as manY suppliers and distributors as possible. It's the one major show that brings together the people who do the actual trading. A central location, minimal rates to attend and exhibit, compact schedule are designed to encourage maximum participation.

Because the show is held on a Friday and Saturday and there aren't an abundance of peripheral events, sales reps don't have to take too much time away from the office. In addition, the show remains open just four hours the first day, five hours the second.

Nonetheless, expect several minor changes to be implemented to make each attendee's days more productive and overall trip more worthwhile.

. The show will spotlighting exhibitors' new products and services, and NAWLA's on-site Traders Market Bulletin will call attention to booths that have something new to introduce. The show is held at the end of the fall buying season specifically so traders can learn about markets during the annual Magellan Club breaKast program. upcoming products as theY begin planning for next year.

The grand opening luncheon will feature "down home" comedian Buzz Sutherland, winner of five ComedY Artist of the Year awards and two Comedian of the Year awards.

. Exhibiting technology providers have been taken out of a separate side room and folded back into the main exhibit hall.

Day-long seminars will address Banking & Credit and Professional Selling Techniques, with a half-day educational program on "The Good News... Wood!"

Although the aisles are inevitably packed with up to 2,000 attendees and more than 250 exhibitors, strict attendance requirements guarantee every person on the floor has been Prequalified. Admission to the NAWLA Traders Market is restricted to "bona fide wholesalers," including wholesaler' processors, foreign wholesalers, and off-shore agents. Manufacturers, service providers and importers are eligible to attend only if they exhibit.

That means no manufacturer representatives, retailers, buying cooperatives, builders, contractors or nonexhibiting primary manufacturers, service providers or importers may attend.
