Hardware Store Opens Big

Heritage Hardware recently held a grand opening for its store in Santa Paula, Ca, to show off the new. familvowned facility that is triple the size of its previous location.

Owners Raymond and Brenda Padgett offered a number of sale items, free hot dogs, punch and popcorn, and hired a clown who painted faces and made balloon animals for the children. Also, each day the first 100 female customers received a rose, and the first 100 customers who bought something received free energy-saving light bulbs. There was even a grand prize drawing for an all-expense-paid trip to Catalina Island.

"The community has been very supporting of our store over the years, and we wanted to kick off the opening of our larger, newer location with a celebration that had something for everyone," said Brenda Padgett.

The Padgetts decided to build a ground-up store to replace their 97-year-old, 4,100-sq. ft. facility to keep up with the community's growth by expanding their product lines, and to better meet the needs of local do-it-yourselfers and pro customers. They thought broadening their array of merchandise would increase customer count and averase transaction figures.

The new 14,000-sq. ft. Heritage Hardware store designed by Do it Best Corp.'s team offers free delivery of paint, pipe cutting and threading, rekeying and additional lumber and building materials, including cement and mortar products. The new store also has more parking space, 29 aisles, and a back warehouse.

To promote the grand opening, Heritage placed ads in newspapers, handed out flyers and advertised on two local radio stations in English and Spanish.
