TwoShakes In A Panel

Shakertown's double course shingle siding panel, Colonial II, comes in 8 ft. panels faced with genuine Western red cedar shingles.

By combining two Tin.courseson one panel, reportedly the application time is cut in half. The product is said to be a complete system, including matched galvanized nails and mitered corners which give the finished exterior a professional look when applied by a d-i-y.

Let There Be Light

A compact Sylvania floodlight which can use either 250w or 400w metal halide or high pressure sodium lamps is called the FloodKat. The compact fixture has an effective projected area of 1.8 sq. ft.

The floodlight has a smooth light distribution pattern with wide beam spread of up to 162o horizontal and l24o vertical. The precision optics designed into the unit's reflector result in maximum utilization of the lumens produced by the lamp.

Precise Sprinkler

A short range impact sprinkler with a low 15 o wind resistant stream trajectory features a 7 /64" orifice, and a low precipitation rate to provide irrigation for slopes and tight soils by resisting runoff or puddling. A special short radius of throw allows the sprinkler to stay within smaller areas. The precision jet prevents side splash of water onto walkways and streets.

Equipped with hoods and seals to prevent grit and sand from entering the bearings, the sprinkler's plastic construction is corrosion resistant.

Solar Air Collector Panel

Multi-Structures Inc.'s Suntap A-83solar air collector panel features a selective surface coating that reportedly prevents wasteful reradiation. Requiring no central controls, each panel can be installed one at a time with ordinary household tools.

Blending naturally with existing windows on any south facing wall, the panel comes in 3'x 6' and 3' x 8' sizes. For active-system performance, optional ll5 v thermostatcontrolled blower module and teflon backdraft damper are available.

Unleaded Glass

Wing Industries has decorator panels and bifolds with frosted and leaded glass set inside Ponderosa pine for do-it-yourself installation.

The panels can be used as window enclosures or cabinetry for the kitchen, bath and bar. They come in three styles.

Chemstop Manufacturing claims their product is extremely resistant to abrasions and yellowing. An airless sprayer, brush or roller may be used to apply the finish.

Universal Foam Systems, Inc. has an applicator gun as a key feature in a two-component polyurethane foam system, VersiFoam.

The product is said to offer a wide range of insulating, sealing, filling and patching applications. SnappyGutter

A vinyl gutter system that reportedly can be installed in a few hours by do-it-yourselfers is a product of Rain Master, a division of Bemis Mfg. Co.

The system requires no glue or sealing, consisting of 12 parts that snap together for permanent, leak- proof performance. The major fittings have silicone gaskets that seal and never dry out while allowing for expansion and contraction.

The gutters are said to avoid rusting and the need for painting. Installation requires only a drill, a saw and a screw driver.

Low Cost Heat

Designed to deliver low-cost heat, the Kero-Sun Sunstream portable heater is equipped with an electric circulation fan.

Rated at 9,600 BTU s it can heat a 19' x24'room for upto27 hours on less than lVz gal. of fuel, according to the manufacturer.
