An electronic back-up alarm meets specifications of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Mounted on any wheeled or tracked vehicle, the alarm automatically sounds whenever the vehicle moves backward.

The warning signal, a 1600-cycle tone, sounds within the first three feet of backward travel. Depending on vehicle speed, duration of the tone is 0.2-0.5 seconds. Maximum sound intensity is concentrated within five horizontal feet of the horn.
