Formica Adds Molding Line
Formica Corp. has broadened its exclusive line of laminate clad decorative moldings with three new styles, designed for a wide range of light construction applications.
Introduced to Western builders at the Pacific Coast Builders Conferener, June ?, the new molding shapes included: o A lYE" wide molding that can be scribed or planed for finish trim applications or built-in cabinetry, paneling or doors. o A smooth tightly radiused convex or "bullnose" shape for shelf nose finishing, table edging or for use as picture and mirror framing door and pa.nel trim molding. o A contoured contemporary adaptation of the Classic French Conge' molding suitable for cabinet door edging and panel trim applications.
These new moldings supplement Formica's classic and contemporary shapes, which have found successful application in cabinetry and decorative furnishings. The entire line of decorative moldings is produced from solid wood cores, veneered with a Formica@ brand decorative high pressture laminated plastic in a selection of 15 woodgrains to match the firm's vertical grade laminate col' lection.
For maximum cutting and fabricating economies, the moldings are produced in five and ten foot Iengths.
A technical bulletin, featuring applications and complete fabri' cation details and techniques for use of the laminate clad moldings are available through distributors of Formica.@
Formica, a subsidiary of American Cyanamid Co., is the original manufacturer of decorative laminated plastic for a wide range of residential, commercial, and institutional applications. The firm also produces industrial plastics and copper clad-laminate products for the electronics and aerospace industries.
