Fire Retordqnt Point

A latex emulsion paint that offers an efficient fire retardant finish has been announeed by the Coatings and Resins Division of PPG Industries.

Underwriters Laboratories tests show that "Speedhide Latex Fire R-etardant Paint" miuimizes smoke hazard and has a low flame spread and fuel distribution factor. Washing causes no significant loss of fire retardant properties.

When a flame is applied to Speedhide Fire Retardant Latex paint, the film forms a "puff" or foam up to hundreds of times thicker than the original paint film. When the foam is charred and becomes rigid, it is not readly consumed by flames.

It will not furnish fuel for the flame to spread beyond the point of origin and thus effectively insulates the combustible surface from flame and heat for a limited time.

Speedhide Latex is designed for use on interior combustible surfaces and non-combustible surfaces.

The product may be used in areas of excessive moisture and dampness. A wide range of colors can be had with universal colorants.

Speedhide Latex spreads smoothly. Painting tools clean speedily.
