Finishing

When exposed to weather, the natural surface of Boise Cascade Rough-Sawn Philippine Mahogany Siding gradually darkens to an attractive rustic tone.

Exterior oil stains give a variety of shades and color tones to the siding without obscuring the roughsawn texture. They are weather resistant while allowing natural vapor transmission.

1. ALLOWABLE SHEARS for wind or seismic loading (lbs. per foot)

Galvanized nails increase these properties to 360 pounds per foot for 6" nail spacing and 380 pounds for 4" spacing.

2. WEATHER RESISTANCE tests prove Boise Cascade Rough-Sawn Philippine Mahogany Sidings are resistant to checking and grain raise when left natural-or with the application of only one coat of stain.

Subjected to hours of weatherometer and aging tests, the siding showed no separation of the plies. Checking resistance and overall panel stability were excellent.*

3. The VAPOR TRANSMISSION value of RoughSawn Philippine Mahogany Siding will be less than the 1 perm, which is considered the maximum value to be efficient.
