THE ISth annual Sierra-Cascade Logging r Conlerence elected its new president from the Fresno area, Thomas L. Taylor, resident manager, American Forest Products Corp., North Fork, Calif., and named Fresno as the site for the next three-day convention, February 15-17, 1968.

Elected vice president was Lowell N. Jones, Lowell Jones Logging, Klamath Falls, Ore. L. D. Wambold, Lakeview Log. ging Co., Redding, Calif., was re-elected secretary-treasurer.

New directors elected were Robert Jensen, Cooper's Mill, Mount Shasta, Calif,; C. O. Borsting, Weyerhaeuser Company, Klamath Falls; Elwood W. Maloney. Modoc Lumber Co., Klamath Falls; and Dave Dealey, Kimberly-Clark Corp., Anderson, Calif.

The conference announced the establishment of the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference Forestry Scholarship, to be awarded each year to a high school graduate of the Sierra.Cascade conference area California and southern Oresonfor attendance at {orestry school at the University of California in Berkeley or Oregon State University in Corvallis.

A check for $500 to beein the scholar.

ship was presented to President David M. Williams of Redding by Robert Bogh, Sacramento, representing the equipment members of the conference, who provided the fund. Provisions for the scholarship are to be announced this spring, following final arrangements by a committee headed by Ray Crane, Corning; Warren Carleton. Martell and Hank Abraham. Johnsondale, with equipment representation by Bogh and George McClean, Sacramento.

The con{erence this year assembled more than 1500 loggers, lumbermen and associates in Sacramento, and displayed a $4 million logging equipment show at the California State Fair Grounds.

Next year's conference will be held in the new Fresno Convention Center, Fresno, Calif. President W'illiams said that the move has been under consideration and study for almost a year by conference directors and the equipment committee. The past four consecutive conferences have been held in Sacramento.
