Employees Keep Authorities Busy
A dozen employees at two South Carolina Lowe's stores made sensational headlines recently under very different circumstances.
At the Columbia store, six workers became ill and were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning June 12 after being overcome by exhaust fumes while loading merchandise into the back of a semi-trailer from a forklift.
Four days prior, six employees at the Orangeburg location were arrested on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. All six were charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent.
The sheriff, tipped off by the store's internal security, expected to arrest additional suspects in the theft ring as the investigation continued.
