Ed Bergeron, formerly president and general manager of Parish Lumber & Supply Co., Baton Rouge. La., died May 13, 1990, in Baton Rouge. He was 65.

Born in Baton Rouge, he joined Parish Lumber in the mid-1940s after receiving his degree in forestry from LSU. He retired in 1986.

Mr. Bergeron is survived by his widow, Betty, two sons, and five grandchildren.

Wlllhm P. Ames Jr., 70, president of Murphy & Ames, lnc., Arlington, Va., died May 17,1990, in Arlington.

A lifelong native of Arlington, Mr. Ames served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Navy during World War ll, after which he joined the family business. He became president after his father's death in 1978.

He was also a charter member of the Virginia Building Material Association, serving as president in 1968.

Mr. Ames is survived by two sons, four daughters, two sisters, and 22 grandchildren.

lXi Mouldings, Marion, Va., has been purchased by Marley PLC, a building products conglomerate headquartered in the U nited Kingdom.

The sale encompasses all assets, including 800,000 sq. ft. of facilities and the Donner Mouldings & Millwork division, Chilhowie, Va. Management and the more than 600 employees are expected to remain intact, although a name change is under consideration.

Classroom lectures will be reinforced by field trips, telemarketing demonstrations and discussion sessions. Programs are designed for wholesale lumber salespersons with less than two years experience.
