BÜRGENSTOCK RESORT LAKE LUCERNE LAUNCHES INAUGURAL RETREAT THIS OCTOBER, DESIGNED TO RESTORE BALANCE AND VITALITY

Obbürgen, 3rd September 2025 – This October, the legendary Bürgenstock Resort will host its inaugural Yoga & Movement Retreat (10–12 October 2025), a restorative two-night programme combining mindful movement, nutrient-rich cuisine, and rejuvenating Alpine experiences, all designed to foster balance, energy and renewal.

Set high above Lake Lucerne at 500 metres, Bürgenstock Resort has been a haven for over 150 years, attracting royalty, Hollywood icons and discerning travellers seeking both privacy and revitalisation. Today, it continues this legacy at the Waldhotel by Bürgenstock, where the retreat will take place.

Limited to just 20 participants, the retreat offers a curated programme of yoga, restorative movement, forest bathing, and sound healing - all practices shown to reduce stress, improve mobility and enhance the mind-body connection. Expert-led mindfulness and movement practices, guided by Meret Hulliger (IM Yoga) & Máté Hesz, Bürgenstock Resort’s resident yoga teachers, together with Fitness & Wellness Trainer José Costa, will provide the tools to quieten the mind, improve sleep quality, and encourage emotional balance, while outdoor movement in nature will support posture, flexibility, and joint health.

Between activities, guests can unwind in the Waldhotel Spa – a 4,000m2 sanctuary featuring an indoor pool with panoramic views, Alpine saunas, steam baths, and the signature Kneipp circuit – a hydrotherapy method proven to stimulate circulation and boost the immune system.

Menus inspired by Waldhotel by Bürgenstock’s Wellbeing Cuisine, are designed to optimise energy and aid recovery. Using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, each dish is crafted to complement the body’s natural healing process.

Participants will stay in light-filled Alpine Deluxe Rooms, each with a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows framing sweeping mountain or lake views. The journey begins with the resort’s signature arrival: a private catamaran crossing of Lake Lucerne followed by an ascent on the historic Bürgenstock Funicular, setting the tone for an unforgettable wellness escape.

Recognised as a Kraftort – a place of special natural energy - Bürgenstock Resort offers an environment where the air feels purer, the light sharper, and the pace gentler. Every element of the retreat has been designed to complement this rare setting, helping guests leave feeling lighter, more energised and deeply renewed.

Following this inaugural edition, additional retreat dates will be announced for 2026.

To Book: The Yoga & Movement Retreat costs CHF 1,453 (approx. GBP 1,333) per person based on two adults sharing, including two-nights’ accommodation at Waldhotel by Bürgenstock, full board, all retreat activities, spa access, and wellness amenities.
