ANNOUNCEMENTS The DD Series of Weighing Terminals can now print custom tickets directly to a printer on the network, just like a computer can. Normally, PC software is required to interpret the data and handle the printing of the information. The DD Terminal eliminates the need for PC hardware as it communicates directly with your printer.

All distributors should be receiving new price books in the next four to six weeks. Some highlights of this new price book include standard galvanized pricing for Centurion Truck Scales and full range of systems hardware and components.

Please call your local B-TEK Representative to learn more about these new developments.

DiLink System Troubleshooting Tips

Excitation voltage can be 7.2VDC or 10VDC depending on the version of the DiLink board. Either the User Menu Diagnostics or Setup menu/ Scale:Digital/Test menu can be used to aid in troubleshooting. The internal counts in the Test menu are “live”, meaning load cells can be plugged and unplugged for troubleshooting without the need to cycle power on the indicator. If a load cell position is showing “no connection”, a simulator can be wired to it. If it works with the simulator, then there is a load cell problem. If it does not, then there is a problem with the DiLink board. The load cells themselves are not addressed. This means that if diagnostics show cell#3 is reading “no connection”, cell #3 and cell #4 can be swapped. If the problem moves to position #4 in the diagnostics menu, then the load cell is the problem. If the problem remains in position #3, then the DiLink board is the problem. Uploading Calibration to Replacement Indicator: Under Digital Scale Parameters, set the number of load cells to the correct value. Indicator should power up with error -08- on the display. The User Menu Diagnostics should show readings for all load cells. Perform Setup Menu/Scale:Digital/Terminal Data Reinstatement. Scale should now be functional. Downloading Calibration to Replacement DiLink Board: Set DIP switches as required on DiLink board. Indicator should power up with -08- on the display. The User Menu Diagnostics should show readings for all load cells.

6

Perform Setup Menu/Scale:Digital/Terminal Data Storage. Scale should now be functional. Defaulting DiLink Board: Positions on the DiLink board must be defaulted one at a time. Disconnect all load cell connections from the board except for the one to be defaulted. Ex: to default position 3: Unplug cells, 1 and 2. Leave cell #3 connected in the #3 position. Disconnect everything after #3. Perform Setup Menu/Maintenance/Cell Emergency Routine. Press DEFAU softkey, followed by YES. Ghosting a load cell: In case of load cell failure, the system can be returned to service temporarily. Jumper the SIG pins on the DiLink board as shown: +SIG (failed cell)..…+SIG (opposite cell, same section) -SIG (failed cell).…...-SIG (opposite cell, same section)

3rd Quarter Review with

Brett Kaufman

Quarter 3 has been strong for us on many levels here at B-TEK. We have seen an increase from some industries which had otherwise been dormant for the first part of 2014. A couple of the larger industries which helped contribute to our strong quarter are particularly focused around Waste and Agriculture. We have continued to target new construction and capital spending in both of these industries and have seen our year-long efforts reap dividends in the period from July – September. If the lag in spending from the beginning of 2014 continues to catch up, which we believe it will, we should see positive prospects through the end of November not only in these industries but our business as a whole. We have seen the introduction and continued development of our Endurance-AT Truck Scale give B-TEK opportunities into new markets where we previously weren’t able to compete. The response from this new product has been extremely positive as it not only has provided a more affordable solution but it has also helped many distributors to gain a “starting point” for introducing B-TEK to the market. Please call your local B-TEK Representative to learn more about the Endurance-AT Truck Scale. As always, we appreciate your support and would like to hear any feedback as to how we can improve and make your business run better each day.
