Served as the leader to a maturing offensive line that set the tone for an offensive unit that ranked fourth in the NSIC in scoring, averaging 33.5 points per contest, was fourth in rushing offensive gaining 189.4 yards per game and led the league in third down conversions, converting 79-of-158 (50 percent)... The BSU offensive unit led the NSIC in time of possession dominating the line of scrimmage for nearly 34:00 per game... They cleared room for eight 100-yard rushing games, including six by Dustin Kroeplin, a redshirt freshman that came just 48 yards shy of clearing the 1,000-yard plateau... The line also protected quarterback Derek Edholm who lead the league in pass efficiency completing over 61 percent of his passes, for nearly 1,700 yards, while throwing 25 touchdowns. 2008 (Fr): Anchored the BSU offensive line as its center in all 11 contests. Was part of a offensive front that paved the way for the BSU rushing attack to average nearly 100-yards per game in 2008... The unit protected Derek Edholm, who completed a BSU single-season best 65.2-percent of his pass attempts, setting a BSU mark with 193 completions... An Honorable Mention All-NSIC pick, Knutson was one of only three rookies hailing from the NSIC North to be honored... Finished his first collegiate season with 39 tackles (17 solo)... His 8.0 tackles for loss (-41 yards) ranked second among his defensive teammates, while his 3.0 sacks was good for third... Carried the ball 14 times for 98 yards, which included a season-high 27-yard scamper and a score versus MSU Moorhead (9/19/09)... Caught four passes for 51 yards, which included his first touchdown reception as a Beaver, versus St. Cloud State (10/3/09)... Prior to BSU: Rushed for 4,804 yards and 55 touchdowns on 608 carries for Owen-Withee High School to cap his career as the school’s all-time rushing leader... As a senior led OWHS to a 12-1 mark and a spot in the state semifinal game... Carried the ball 294 times as a senior piling up 2,686 yards and 31 touchdowns... He also anchored the team’s defense as a linebacker... Was named all-conference as a running back and linebacker in 2007 while pulling down Small Cloverbelt Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors...
