JRMA Family Martial Arts is celebrating it’s Grand Opening on Monday, June 14th from 6-8 pm. The Dojo is located at 3100 RT 7, Unit I on the South side of Blue Springs. JRMA is a family friendly traditional martial arts school teaching a blend of Karate, Hapkido, and Kobudo, with Tae Kwon Do at its core. Dedication of the Downtown Gateway Arch will take place on Thursday, June 10 on Main Street. The Blue Springs Corks & Canvas Art and Wine Walk will be on Saturday, June 19 from 11 am - 7 pm in downtown Blue Springs.
MEET A MEMBER Sam McCloskey, Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center I am the Nature Center Manager for Burr Oak Woods Nature Center and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Our mission is to protect and manage the fish, forest, and wildlife resources of the state; to facilitate and provide opportunity for all citizens to use, enjoy, and learn about these resources. I grew up in Missouri and spent most of my childhood and as much of my adult life as possible trying to be outside enjoying the natural resource. I have been fortunate to work in resource management in Missouri and Colorado in a number of different capacities over the years. My hobbies range from skiing and snowmobiling to hunting, hiking and everything in between. I am excited to be with Burr Oak Woods Nature Center where my work and hobbies can align.

MEET A BOARD MEMBER Clarissa Murray, Fike Corporation I am the Employee Relations Manager in the HR department at Fike. Fike creates and manufactures industry-leading solutions for reliable safety and uncompromising protection of people and assets. We are a global company with offices located in Japan, UK, Germany, Dubai, Canada, and France. I have been on the Chamber board for 1 year and I am impressed with the entire Chamber staff as they work seamlessly as a team. Their creativity and willingness to assist members is phenominal. I also like the proactive stance the Chamber embraces. They are always forward thinking with a bold ambition to be best in class and providing stellar customer service to Chamber members. I take the knowledge I obtain from the Chamber and share with our leadership team at Fike. Fike also likes to support local businesses so I alert them of various grand openings and joint business opportunities. I have two children and four grandchildren, and in my free time I enjoy playing tennis.
