a new momentum at Bryant. We have seen how a culture of philanthropy has the power to transform an institution and energize a campus community. As Bryant continues to rise in rankings and reputation, we’re renewing our commitment to improving in another key metric: alumni giving participation. The

percentage of alumni who make annual contributions is a widely used measure of alumni satisfaction continues on page 6

Alumni come back each year to celebrate Reunion@Homecoming, like this group from the Class of 1988 at their 30th reunion last year. #BryantAlumni Student Center, which was renovated while they were students. Alumni Engagement staff member Vicky Klesseck ’14, has marshalled a great committee to make their 5th reunion special.

CLASS OF 1989 And once again, the 30th reunion is shaping up to be one of the largest, with the Class of 1989 making plans for their class party on Saturday. “Coming back to campus every five years brings back so many fond memories of our time at Bryant. Even though I live down in Atlanta, I wouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to be back at campus with my classmates. Great memories and great times!” notes Mike Howard ’89. “I haven’t missed a reunion since I graduated, and I hope to recruit as many

of my classmates as possible to come back and see all the changes of the last 5 to 10 years,” says Carole LaRochelle ’89. “Knowing this will be Ron and Kati’s last reunion with us, what better reason is there to visit over the weekend to say goodbye to the 8th President of Bryant University?” Additional major reunion parties are planned on and off campus over the weekend for all classes ending in a 4 or a 9, and there is still time to get your group of special friends involved.

GREEK REUNION After a 10-year hiatus, a major Greek Reunion will start with golf on Friday. Chris “Alfie” Esteban ’88, along with a core planning group, are asking all Greeks to come back home to Bryant in September. A popular band made up of Tau Epsilon brothers, Paper or Plastic, will provide the live entertainment at the All-Greek Reunion Party in the Unistructure Rotunda on Saturday evening. continues on page 11

Coming from California, Florida, and across the U.S. will be the Class of 1969, who will celebrate 50 years since their graduation from Bryant’s East Side campus. Steven Cowen ’69, from San Diego, makes it back to campus often, and notes “I’m eager to see my classmates and hope they will catch the same Bryant spirit I have for this campus and our Bulldog teams.” Mary (Thornton) Reis ’69 and Frank Reis ’69, who met in the teacher education program at Bryant, look forward to reminiscing with former classmates at the Archway Society induction ceremony for the 50th Reunion. “After catching up with friends during the day, we plan to dance the night away on Saturday at the All-Greek Reunion Party,” notes the duo, who have been actively involved with Bryant’s network of alumni in Florida.

eptember 27-29, 2019 will bring together more than 1,000 alumni from around the globe. This year, in addition to celebrating our many friendships, we will also toast the success of Bryant’s Capital Campaign and President Ronald K. Machtley’s 23 years at Bryant. This will be Ron and Kati’s last fall Homecoming and Reunion, so we want to make it special.
