RECOMMENDATION FOR SALLY STUDENT
Entered Brookwood: Pre-Kindergarten
Academic Achievement Sally has consistently earned spots on the Honor Roll, and while High Honors have eluded her, her steady approach to her studies has always impressed all who work with her. She is particularly strong in math where she was selected to join the Advanced Section at the start of seventh grade. It’s also worth noting that Sally is particularly interested in pursuing marine biology in high school. Following a family trip to The Galapagos Islands, she began cultivating her burgeoning interest in studying life in the ocean. When Sally encounters something that truly piques her interest, there is little that can dampen her enthusiasm. In fact, Sally’s best work is completed when she’s had the opportunity to truly immerse herself in a topic of particular interest. Her recent project on hermit crabs, as part of our intertidal zone study, perfectly exemplified her tremendous work ethic and capacity for excellence when the circumstances are right. Community Engagement and Citizenship Sally has always been a highly engaged member of the Brookwood community since joining us in Pre-K. In a recent reflection, she recalled memories of working with her Upper School buddies when in first and second grade. In one case, she and her buddy made posters to advertise a food drive, and she found the activity so fun that it inspired her to volunteer at Beverly Bootstraps where she and her mother volunteer a couple of days a month helping to organize canned goods. Sally also recently joined the Student Life Leadership Group where she and her peers plan uplifting activities and events for the entire student body to enjoy. Currently, they are planning for the winter dance which has an alpine theme since it will be held outdoors. Most importantly, Sally is the type of deeply engaged community member who is always willing to help out a friend, clean up a messy space, or volunteer her time to support initiatives here at school.
