What book did you read that changed your life?

There are two that were in fact “life changing” for me: the first is The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho; I read it when I was 22 and living on my own for the first time it was in fact mind blowing. The 2nd is The Question of God: C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud debate God, Love, Sex and The Meaning of Life; Reading about Freud and Lewis helped me take the plunge to apply to seminary… and we know how that turned out.

Favorite Dad joke?

Eggs and bacon walk into a bar – bartender says “Sorry, we don’t serve breakfast.”

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Airforce pilot. Though it took me years to connect the fact that I easily get car sick with the improbability of finding employment flying supersonic jets!

What led you to work at a church?

I've always wanted to work in a profession that limited my choice in wardrobe. Plus, JESUS.

What celebrity do people say you look like?

When I was in 8th grade, a boy named Ray told me several times that I looked like Grace Kelly.

What was your 15 min of fame?

My fifteen minutes of fame was in June, 1985 when anti-abortion demonstrators showed up at the Cathedral to protest my diaconal ordination because my thenhusband was an abortion provider. Bishop Walker had been forewarned and handled it all very graciously, but my husband and I and our adorable sons all got in the nightly news with the bishop’s approving arms draped around us.

Where would you go if you had a time machine?

I'd go back and meet my spouse Bill at an earlier season of adulthood and know the blessings of marriage for a longer span of our lifetimes.

Worst job you have ever had?

As a teenager working one summer at a lab research supply company that sold goat's blood for medical research and diagnostic purposes. I packed containers of the product for shipping.

Angle of Repose, by Wallace Stegner. It was significant in helping me understand generational poverty.

What is your favorite Dad joke?

Receptionist: “Doctor, there’s an invisible man in the waiting room, but he doesn’t have an appointment” Doctor: “We’ll, tell him I can’t see him right now”

I went to the zoo and saw a baguette in a cage... Pretty sure it was bread in captivity

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

"You can never step into the same stream more than once."

I was baby new year in the hospital where I was born.

9 to 5. Why? I'm not sure Dolly Parton ever needs a reason, but: the crowd loves to sing along to the chorus, and then I impress everyone by knowing every. single. word. No onscreen lyrics necessary.

Genovia from The Princess Diaries! It's long been my comfort movie and who doesn't want to hang out with Queen Clarisse Renaldi (aka Queen Julie Andrews)?

What experience had an impact on you?

I went skydiving with our daughter this past September when she turned 18.

Caroline told me that she wanted the two of us to do it together. It was exhilarating, terrifying and awesome...hard to describe really, but an experience I will never forget.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a child I always thought that I would be a veterinarian. I have always had a love for animals and still do. That decision changed when I realized I can’t handle the down side of it.

What would you remove from your daily life?

If I could eliminate one thing from my daily routine it would be dishes. I don’t mind cleaning up at all. I just hate seeing dishes in the sink .

The Autobiography of Malcom X, it is one of my favorite books and really shaped my views about discipline and perseverance.

Who is your hero?

Easy one! Anthony Kittrell Sr! My dad is a super solid dude that is not only a father figure to me, but many of my friends.

When I was in the third grade, I was on a local TV show called "Kiddie Kollege." Sadly, my team didn't win the competition, so it was for only one show.

I once told friends and family that I liked dragonflies - and now I have a lot of them. So my answer today would be NO!

Best advice you have been given?

When there’s a problem, just pick up the phone and call the person. Listen to what they have to say, offer your support, and promise to follow up. Most problems can be solved with a phone call.

If you could add a word to the dictionary, what would you add and what would it mean?

Middlest. I have a younger sister, an older sister, and I am in the middle.

What would your superpower be and why?

I'd love to be able to clone myself. That way, I'd be able to get everything done, and still have time to practice my ukulele!

What would be the ultimate scientific discovery?

I'm looking forward to the day they invent a translator so that I can know what my dog is thinking. There are times I'm pretty sure he's laughing at me.

Wishes Fulfilled by Wayne Dyer changed my life because it sparked the desire in me to expand spiritually and introduced me to the practice of meditation.

Not that anybody has actually seen him, but since having locks I've been told numerous times I look like Jesus.

My earliest memory is my dad teaching me to ride a bike, near the beach while living in Hawaii at 4 years-old.

If you had 25 hours a day, how would you use your extra time?

I would spend the extra hour meditating. I feel that this would help me keep my life balanced.
