1. INTRODUCTION At the British School of Bucharest (BSB), our school uniform reflects pride, equality, and belonging. We believe that wearing the uniform with care helps every student develop a sense of responsibility and shared identity.

This policy outlines the uniform requirements for Primary students and provides guidance to parents on appropriate presentation and dress throughout the school year.

2. AIMS ●

Promote inclusivity, comfort, and safety.

Ensure that students are neat, tidy, and well-presented at all times.

●

Ensure that all items are clearly labelled with the student’s name.

● Ensure that full uniform is worn correctly during school hours, on trips, and at official school events, unless stated otherwise.

3. POLICY WINTER UNIFORM: Reception – Year 6 ●

Grey Trousers, Grey skirt or skorts

Navy Blue Polo Shirt with School Logo (long sleeve)

Navy Blue Cardigan or Jumper with School Logo

●

*Navy Blue/*Grey/*White leggings or tights may be worn with skirts.

● *Shoes – smart black or navy polishable leather. No trainers. In wet weather, students may bring outdoor shoes/boots and change into regulation shoes when inside the school building.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION KIT ●

SUMMER UNIFORM: Reception - Year 6 ●

Navy Blue Polo Shirt with School Logo

Grey short trousers or skorts

● *Plain Single-Coloured Sandals may be worn (no bows or trimmings). Sandals must have a back in them (no flip flops, crocs etc.). ●

Trainers are not acceptable as day shoes.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION KIT ●

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ● You will be informed, by letter, regarding the switch from winter to summer uniform. This may depend on weather conditions, but usually, the academic year begins with summer uniform, and winter uniform is adopted for the second half of the Term 1. This usually remains until the start of Term 3, when summer uniform begins. ● Hair should be tied back if it is long or it falls over the face. Hairbands and slides are acceptable, but they must be plain dark colours. Other hair accessories are not permitted. Severe haircuts are not acceptable, with a guideline of no shorter than a Grade 2. Dyed hair is not acceptable. ●

Outdoor coats and jackets must be plain, and logos should not be visible. Leather and denim jackets are not acceptable.

SCHOOL BAGS To ensure practicality, consistency, and alignment with our school values, students are expected to use school-appropriate bags. ●

Bags should be plain in colour (navy, grey, or black) and of a suitable size to carry books, laptops, and daily essentials.

●

Designer handbags or bags with large logos or embellishments (e.g. Dior, LV, etc.) are not permitted.

● Official BSB school bags are available for purchase in the School Shop and are the recommended option. These bags are designed to be durable, practical, and aligned with our uniform standards
