Welcome everyone to 2025!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and had a chance to have a bit of a break and unwind. Since the last edition of Brisport we have run two events. The Oakview Khanacross in December was a wonderful day and well received by those who attended. It was the first time that our club has run an event like this for a very long time and will certainly not be the last. I was very pleased to see a number of junior entrants on the day and also some seasoned competitors giving support and advice when required. I would like to thank Mal Bartolo for his help leading up to and on the day. Also Tony Best, Brian Everitt and Craig Porter for their help at the start and stop points.
January saw another Laurie Garth organised navigation run. Although the weather was not kind on the day by all accounts everyone had a great time. These runs are getting more popular and was nice to see some younger competitors entered. Thanks Laurie and Judy!
Our first speed event for the year will be the SR Automotive Jimna Test and Tune, to be run out of the Jimna Base Camp again. With a new Clerk of Course in John Coleman, it promises to be a great opportunity to blow off the cobwebs before the competitive events get underway. The roads in Jimna are in fantastic condition and will provide a good mix of open and tighter forest sections.
By the time you read this edition you may already be aware of the format change to the Queensland Rally Championship. This year the QRC will be made up of 1, 2 & 3 heat rounds. The BSCC will be promoting three single heat Rallysprint rounds in February, March and August. This 3 events will be run in Blackbut, Jimna and Imbil. Each round will be between 65 and 80 km’s competitive in length over 8 or 9 stages. The entire fee will also be considerably lower than a 2 or 3 heat round.
In conjunction with these three Rallysprint rounds the BSCC will be running a three round Novice and Clubman series which I am very pl eased to announce has the support from Stewart Reid from SR Automotive as the series sponsor. The series is open to any current Novice or Clubman competitors as well as any juniors as defined as a Novice or Clubman in the QRC regulations. Each competitor must register for the series before the start of the first round. Registration can be found on the BSCC website.

GREAT NEWS! Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland took home not one, but TWO awards, as voted by the 2024 ARC - Motorsport Australia Rally Championship competitors. ABRQ took out the Pedders Suspension Rally Central of the Year and the Mainfix Event of the Year.
These honours reward the hard work of so many individuals. The organising committee; Brisbane Sporting Car Club; Queensland Rally & Championship panel; Gympie Regional Council; our army of volunteer officials; the competitors and crews and of course our generous sponsors.
‘twas a few weeks before Christmas and all through the paddock, all the wheels were a spinning… or something like that. The BSCC ended its busy year with a bang, bringing together members, competitors, officials, and their families for out inaugural, Khristmas Khanacross. Held at the beautiful Oakview property, just 25 minutes west of Gympie, this non-competitive event was the perfect way to unwind, celebrate the season, and reflect on a year of motorsport fun.
With so much going on throughout the year, the club thought it was the perfect time to let loose and have a bit of fun. The weekend kicked off with a Khanacross run on Saturday 7th December, followed by a delicious BBQ dinner hosted by the club. After dinner, everyone enjoyed some downtime, relaxing with a few cold ones while swapping stories from the year just passed.
The event was not just for seasoned competitors; it was open to everyone! Whether you were a BSCC member or not, a competitive driver or a casual motorsport enthusiast, the Khristmas Khanacross welcomed all. The competition itself was designed to be friendly and accessible, held on grass and suitable for road cars. Juniors Mitchell Plant and Sasha Power were on fire, as were seasoned vets, Michelle Van Der Wilk and Jason Dahler; and an epic show of classic power from the Datsun Stanzas of Ryan Smart, Dave Feron and Craig Mole had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Khristmas Khanacross was more than just a competition, it was a celebration of the BSCC community, a time to reflect on the year, and a chance to enjoy the camaraderie that makes motorsport so special. Here’s to another successful year and many more to come!
Two hours from Brisbane, the Gympie region is surrounded by nature and wildlife that you can’t get anywhere else in Queensland.
The coloured sands of Rainbow Beach and the charming fishing town of Tin Can Bay are our coastal playgrounds and the southern gateway to K’gari (Fraser Island).
Away from the coast, you’ll find the pioneering heritage town of Gympie with elegant buildings and heritage railways. Out west, you’ll discover a beauty unmatched; the rolling hills of our western townships and the lush, fertile land of the Mary Valley.
There’s more to the Gympie region than you might imagine.
On very damp January morning, 22 crews gathered at Rusty’s Shell service station, Hatton Vale, for a leisurely, noncompetitive social run that promised beautiful views, good company, and a relaxed atmosphere. The run began promptly at 9 am, with participants setting out on a scenic route through the mountains towards Hampton for a coffee break.
The day’s route offered a mix of winding roads, picturesque landscapes, and the chance to connect with like-minded individuals. However, the weather took a much expected turn. Three participants decided to withdraw from the run due to worsening conditions, but the majority of the group pressed on, embracing the challenges of the weather.
After navigating some very interesting oceanesque obstacles, the group made their way to Murphy's Creek and then looped back towards Rusty’s.
Despite the weather challenges, 19 of the original 22 starters completed the run. By 2pm, the run had concluded, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment; making it a memorable day for all who participated.

After several cancellations since the last event, the highly anticipated SR Automotive BSCC Jimna Test and Tune is making a grand return in 2025! We welcome the sponsorship of SR Automotive to the event for 2025 and we thank them for the involvement.
Set for Saturday, February 1st, the event promises to be another exciting opportunity for drivers to fine-tune their cars and test their skills on some of Queensland’s finest forestry roads. Once again, the event will be based at Jimna Base Camp, 21 School Rd, Jimna. Competitors can expect stages to be in excellent condition.
In the week prior to the event, we will also be hosting at the BSCC Clubrooms, a pacenote training night, run once again by pacenote aficionado, Larisa Biggar.
For the first time the event will be trialling RSLITE, the simplistic smartphone app version of RallySafe as a means of status awareness throughout the event.

- 2 Stages: 1 x approx. 5km, 1 x approx. 11km
- Time for recce in the morning to familiarise yourself with the stages and make pacenotes, before the testing begins.

The Brisbane Sporting Car Club is very pleased to announce the 2025 SR Automotive Rallysprint Series being run in conjunction with the Motorsport Australia Kickass Products Queensland Rally Championship.
This Series is open to all Novice and Clubman competitors. Registration is free, but registration is compulsory to be eligible for prizes at the end of the Series. The Registration form can be found at:

The Queensland Offroad Advisory Panel (QORA) is hosting a Triennial Inspection Day at Corostar Motorsports workshop in Wacol on 8th February 2025. This event is open to anyone whose off-road vehicle is due for its Motorsport Australia Triennial Inspection during 2025. Take the opportunity to get your inspection done early in the year, so it's out of the way before the competition season gets busy.
With many competitors working on their vehicles during the off-season, now is the perfect time to complete the inspection. If any issues are found, you’ll have the time to fix them before the season kicks off. Alternatively, you can get peace of mind knowing your vehicle is ready for the next 3 years.
Key Points:
Your vehicle doesn't need to be due for an inspection to participate; once inspected, your car will be certified for the next 3 years. To arrange an inspection time, simply email
