STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT & PERFORMANCE1

Enhanced Strength & Conditioning

Expand sport-specific training and injury prevention within the new Recreation & Wellness Center; identify local organizations to enhance current programming; and identify best practices based on current research.

Academic & Leadership Support

Design and launch a leadership curriculum for current and prospective student-athlete leaders; improve collaboration between Academic Services and Athletics; and enhance off-season training programming.

Mental Health & Wellness

Broaden access to sports psychologists to build resilience and positive team experiences.

Athlete Recruitment & Retention

Collaborate with Admissions to align athletic needs with enrollment strategy and develop recruitment processes to increase mission-driven student Athlete enrollment.

Alumni Mentorship Program

Launch a formal sport-specific alumni mentorship network, collaborating with the Alumni Office and the College Counseling department

Performance Metrics Tracking

Implement an electronic system to track individual and team statistics; and identify and invest in technology to track personal fitness goals and heath data

STAFFING & COACHING EXCELLENCE

Build a well-qualified and high-performing coaching staff and athletic support team that fosters excellence, development, and inclusivity.

Salary Review & Enhancement

Conduct a market review and comparison of coaches’ salaries to ensure competitive compensation in relation to peer schools

Professional Development

Require certifications, host seasonal professional development sessions, and promote off-site PD opportunities.

Enhanced Hiring Practices

Standardize job postings and interview processes; and create hiring rubrics to promote equity in the process.

Coach Recruitment Network

Leverage alumni, league contacts, and national job boards to enhance coaching networks

Support Staff Expansion

Assess the need for additional athletics staffing with the opening of the new Recreation & Wellness Center

Performance Evaluation Process

Launch thorough documentation of job responsibilities and annual reviews of coaches and staff with self-reflections and supervisor feedback

COMMUNITY & ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT

Strengthen relationships with alumni, parents, and the local community to enhance support and investment in athletics.

Athletic Hall of Fame

Create a new Hall of Fame in the Recreation & Wellness Center; and promote Hall of Fame with current students by announcing inductees at End-of-Year Sports Awards ceremony.

Alumni Speaker Series

Invite athletic alumni to speak at team events and assemblies

Media Highlights

Partner with the Marketing & Communications team for regular Athlete and alumni features on social media platforms and the School’s website

Parent Involvement

Clearly define the roles and responsibilities of parent boosters

Marketing & Branding

Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to support and enhance livestreams, newsletters, and targeted content initiatives to expand audiences.
