Letter From the Head of College I am delighted to introduce you to Brighton College Vietnam. There are many things which I believe make us stand out, the first of these being the fact that we are part of the Brighton College UK family. Brighton College has been named as the “School of the Decade” in the UK, a remarkable achievement when one considers the highly competitive and high-quality nature of the private school environment there. Brighton College has a large international family as well, Brighton College International, with schools in Singapore, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi and the UAE, as well as here in Hanoi. Brighton College Bangkok has recently been judged as the British International School of the Year and two other Brighton Colleges were in the 5-school shortlist for that award. Being part of this family is important for many reasons, amongst them the ability to recruit and retain very high-quality staff, many of whom move between Brighton Colleges, thereby bringing their expertise from across the family. Currently we have nearly 10 staff who have worked at one or more Brighton College across the globe. It also allows us to align with a proven set of academic and cultural values and expectations. We can support each other across the family to provide resources, advice, staff and opportunities for pupils to participate in sporting and academic competitions. At Brighton College Vietnam, as in all Brighton College International schools, we are always looking to develop a truly personalised learning experience for our pupils. This starts with knowing the pupils, and I mean really knowing. The relationships between staff and pupils are at the centre of our education, for it is through strong and supportive relationships that we all thrive. Staff understand each pupil’s interests, character, likes and dislikes, family background, skills, aspirations, and anxieties. This is how we are able to tailor our education to develop in each pupil a sense that they belong and that they can access the support they need to succeed. This relationship focus is augmented by some innovative curriculum elements, such as the unique Brighton College HEALTH (Home Economics and Lifetime Health) programme in the Prep School, the “Story of our Land” in Senior School, the super-curriculum, with its focus on entrepreneurship, presentation skills and service, and our dynamic House system in which pupils mix across year groups in competitions, events and pastoral care. For pupils in the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13) there is a unique Brighton College programme, “Futures”, which provides bespoke careers and university guidance, an academically challenging enrichment programme, mentoring programmes and an incredible, dynamic, warm Sixth Form Centre which is a bridge between school and university life. We are developing a one-to-one tutoring system for our Sixth Form to further provide unique personalised learning opportunities. I hope that this gives you a very small flavour of why Brighton College Vietnam is so special. Even though we are at the start of our journey, we are already confident that we provide a unique and fulfilling education. Do, please, come along to meet us and to find out more. Be part of the Brighton College family. Head of College Brighton College Vietnam

With diverse IGCSE options, rich language programmes, and specialised courses like Entrepreneurship, pupils are empowered to tailor their learning to their passions and strengths.

Practical and Age-Appropriate Learning At Brighton College Vietnam, we prioritise the integration of practical learning into our curriculum, designing age-appropriate activities that allow pupils to absorb knowledge naturally and enthusiastically. In Design Technology, Year 1 pupils create their own houses inspired by fairy tales, helping them develop design thinking from an early age. In Science for these young learners, pupils are encouraged to form hypotheses, conduct experiments, and observe the results, leading to "aha" moments that spark curiosity and a passion for learning about the world around them.

The Freedom to Choose: Subject Choices for the Future As pupils advance, they gain more control over their studies. In Key Stage 3 (Year 7-9), language options expand; by Key Stage 4 (Year 10-11), pupils take core IGCSEs in English, Maths, and Science, with choices in humanities, arts, and physical education. They can pursue separate or combined sciences, and top mathematicians may take Further Pure Maths. In Sixth Form (Year 12-13), pupils follow the IBDP, a flexible curriculum tailored to their interests and goals.

Global World of Languages Pupils’ language abilities vary, so we prioritise personalised growth in English and Vietnamese, while also offering French, German, Mandarin, and Spanish. Defining School Culture Through Curiosity, Kindness, And Confidence We foster a compassionate community where every pupil thrives. Through Random Acts of Kindness, our House system, and personalised care, we celebrate empathy, teamwork, and resilience, empowering future leaders with confidence and emotional strength.

Random Acts of Kindness: Celebrating Compassion in Our School In today’s fast-paced, competitive world, it is more important than ever to cultivate empathy, compassion and understanding amongst our future leaders. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. That’s why we’re launching Random acts of kindness, inviting everyone - pupils and teachers alike - to share in meaningful gestures of support. Each week in assembly, we celebrate pupils “caught being kind,” recognising their actions and inspiring a spirit of compassion throughout our school community.

House System: Teamwork and Leadership in Action At Brighton College Vietnam, our house system is the very heartbeat of who we are, bringing together Chichester, Fenwick, Hampden, and Ryle in a celebration of teamwork, leadership, and connection. Within this supportive community, pupils begin the task of discovering where life will take them. Our pupils enjoy a wide range of events, from performing competitions to representing their House at sports days. There are also social events throughout the year, which allow the House community to bond and have fun.

Anti-bullying Week: Celebrating Uniqueness and Kindness Being different isn’t just okay – it’s absolutely amazing! At Brighton College Vietnam, we embrace individuality and take a strong stand against bullying. Kindness is more than a word – it’s a core value we live by and practise together every day. From Odd Socks Day, where we celebrate uniqueness, to vibrant hand templates showcasing our pupils’ ways to show respect, and creating their own acrostic poems about RESPECT, we send a powerful message of honouring diversity and the strength of kindness within our community.

Pupil School Council: Leaders of Tomorrow The Pupil School Council, composed of representatives from each year group, plays a vital role in creating a vibrant and connected school community. Serving as a platform for pupils to voice their opinions and share ideas from their classes and year groups, the council is dedicated to enhancing our school environment. In their new roles, these young leaders will set an example by embodying Brighton College Vietnam’s core values of curiosity, confidence, and kindness.
