SHIRE GETS NEW CEO TIM CLYNCH’S 20 YEARS OF SERVING BRIDGETOWN-GREENBUSHES ENDS.

The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has a new CEO, following the appointment of Nicole Gibbs, currently the CEO of the Shire of Quairading, who takes up the position on October 12. It brings to an end the tenure of Tim Clynch, who has been the Shire’s CEO for 20 years. During that time Mr Clynch has overseen a number of projects including the Bridgetown Aquatic Centre, the new Library, youth precincts in Bridgetown and Greenbushes, the Foreshore redevelopment, the Warren Blackwood Stock Route and the restoration of the Bridgetown Railway Station. In recent times he coordinated the Shire’s response to the 2022 bushfire emergency.

Incoming Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes CEO, Nicole Gibbs. The shire has thanked Mr Clynch for “20 years of dedicated service” in a statement on its website. “Tim has been an active contributor and played an effective role in the Warren Blackwood Alliance of Councils over its lifetime and has continued to offer strategic regional initiatives to the group. “Above all, Tim is a passionate supporter of our two towns and their communities and has given over a large portion of his life to seeing the Shire thrive. We say thanks and goodbye to Tim on good terms and wish him well in whatever path he now chooses to follow.” Mr Clynch thanked his staff for their support. “I look back on my time with the Shire of BridgetownGreenbushes with great pride and feel grateful to have worked with a fantastic cohort of staff and committed councillors seeking betterment for our community,” Mr Clynch said. “No matter where my career path takes me Bridgetown will remain a part of my life and I wish the council/Shire all the best in continuing to deliver a high standard of local government services and infrastructure to its community.” Ms Gibbs brings a broad range of experience to the CEO’s role, having managed a National Social Housing Stimulus Package at the Department of Housing and directed the Aboriginal Housing Services for the Department. She’s also worked in aged care, mental health, children in care, drug and alcohol, disability and prison reform areas. Among the 49 applicants for the CEO’s position she was considered the standout candidate.
