Bridgetown-Greenbushes funding boost
Talison funding will boost the BridgetownGreenbushes Shire’s infrastucture budget.
The Bridgetown-Greenbushes Shire’s coffers have received a $1.6 million boost thanks to a “Partnering for the Future” grant from Talison’s Community Investment Program. Talison Lithium is the owner of the Greenbushes Lithium mining and processing operation, the world’s biggest lithium mine.

Shire President Jenny Mountford is excited that longheld projects that the Shire has lacked the funds to develop can now be brought forward.
She said the Shire formally approached Talison approximately six months ago, though discussions had been going on informally for some time before that.

A proposal was presented to the Talison board in June for funding for a raft of projects over several years.
The funding package will see Greenbushes’ footpaths upgraded, ashphalt overlaid on a number of roads, and improvements to Bridgetown’s and Greenbushes’ sportsgrounds.
Fans will be installed in the courts of the Bridgetown Leisure Centre, and automated pool blankets installed at the pool, with an inflatable obstacle course for weekend swimmers.
