TheJuniorHighoersacceleratedcourseoptionsforrising7thgradestudentsinMath(AcceleratedPre-Algebraand AcceleratedPre-AlgebraMathTeam),whileallothercoreacademiccourses(includingMath7)areoeredatthecollege preplevel.PlacementintheacceleratedMathcoursesisdeterminedaccordingtothefollowingcriteria:

Notification of Course Placement

Rising7thGrade

Rising7thgradestudentswillreceivealistofcoursesfromtheUpperSchoolRegistrarduringthelatterhalfofthe Springsemestertobetakenhome,reviewed,andsignedbyparents.ThiscourselistwillreecttheMathplacement (collegepreporaccelerated)determinedbytheAcceleratedCourseCriteriaforrising7thgraders.

Rising8thGrade

Rising8thgradestudentswillmeetwiththeJHCounselor inthespringtonalizetheircourseselections.Studentswill needtocontinueanacceptablelevelofperformancefortheremainderoftheacademicyeartomaintainplacementinan acceleratedcourse.Theschoolreservestherighttochangeastudent’splacementifastudent’sacademicperformance warrantssuchaction

TheAcademicSupportProgramenablesBriarwoodChristianSchooltomeetthediverseeducationalneedsofeach studentwhileequippingthewholechildforlifefromaBiblicalperspective.TheAcademicSupportProgramatBCS isforstudentswithdocumentedevidenceoflearningdierences.Thegoalistoprovidesupport,accountabilityand encouragementtostudents,motivatingstudentstousetheirGod-givengiftstobecomeconfident,independent,and activelifelonglearners

ThefollowingguidelinessupporttheSchool’sintentiontoprovidethebesteducationpossibleforeachstudent

● TobeeligibletoreceiveAcademicSupportServices,astudentmusthaveappropriateandcurrent documentationindicatinganeedforspecialconsideration.Currentandappropriatedocumentationis denedasafullpsychologicalevaluationwithinthreeyearsfromthestartofAcademicSupportServices considerationfromalicensedpsychologistorpsychometrist.
