INDISTINCT BOUNDARIES Humans are species that create their boundaries and keep them enclosed to people they are more familiar with. As such, housing spaces have tendencies to clearly distinguish private and public spaces. This co-living project aims to reverse the roles of private and public to engage human interactions.

UNIT PLANS

This project is tailor made for those with a busy lifestyle. On site amentidies includes shared bathrooms, kitchens, workspaces and socializing areas. Reducing the distance between neighbors.

Public spaces we offer for the larger public are designed with specific landscapes and topographies, hence the introduction of outdoor outdoor and outdoor indoor spaces. Creating ideal spaces for both pets and humans to define their own activities, exercise whilst interacting with others amongst the community.

Dubai, a city undergoing rapid urbanization, has been in search of an innovative and sustainable building to define the future of housing technology. This project seeks to find the equilibrium between tradition, modernity and the future. This project seeks to offer an exemplar of harmony and sustainability by interweaving traditional building knowledge and innovative technology,

This building also includes traditional passive design strategies in response to Dubai’s harsh climate conditions. Inspiration is drawn from the traditional wind catcher (barajeel) for passive thermal control. This building is designed in a way where the skybridge leads to a mirror imaged of the building. As Emirati’s is known to have the tradition of expanding their home as their family grows.

This building seeks to accommodate the traditional habits of Islamic culture, the inclu and guests would have a calming, spiritual space. This project seamlessly integrates innovative design technologies into traditional approaches. Cross laminated bamboo is the perfect building structure and primary facade. Apart from bamboo being an eco-friendly material, bamboo is also known to have a high thermal capacity. The interactive facade on glazings reflects Islamic patterns whilst being able to constantly adjust angle to regulate the influx of natural sunlight.

RAILING RIBS Chicago, Fall 2021 Albany Park, Chicago is a hub filled with busy traffic and pedestrians due to it’s convinient public transportation system.

Locating next to a train terminal, the deisgn is strongly driven by the neughboring train station. The rails extensions and serves as ribbing structures that gives the building strong identity whilst connecting to the terminal’s rich historical context. The railing ribs integrates in the building by extending into it hence serving as various different furnitures such as bookshelves, benches, as well as hanging stairs.

Champaign, Spring 2022 The Contorno is a multifamily project located in Champaign, Illinois. It’s unique form serves as a solution to the strong prevailing wind whilst maximizing views to the park. Each story having a unique slab outline that resembles the park slope contour to combat summer sunlight whilst maximizing winter sunlight.

Champaign, Fall 2021 Origami, meaning paper folding art in Japanese, is an art galleria cafe that aims to brighten Champaign up.

The folding form of the building gives the building a strong identity whilst being welcoming to guests and pedestrians. In addition, the folding form also makes space for outdoor seating area. This building aims to serve as a solution towards unique trapezoid shapes site.
