There is no single type of Brewster graduate, and no typical path taken by our alumni.
A Brewster education empowers every student to discover their own unique talents and passions, choose a college that best fits their interests and ambitions, and forge a career and life that only they could imagine. What our graduates share are competencies and qualities of character that will serve them as they forge lives of purpose— whatever path they choose, wherever life takes them.

COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS Achieved by Brewster Graduates Lives of Purpose
I came to Brewster a bit of a rebellious kid. I was just going to ‘do my time’ here, but to this day my closest friends are from Brewster. One transformative moment for me was starting a club and inviting the whole school to join, and everybody did, including faculty and staff. We raised $3,000 at one event, which we used to build a house in Haiti. That was the first time in my life that I realized I COULD DO THINGS THAT COULD CHANGE THE WORLD

I came as a junior with one focus—basketball, and getting a Division I college scholarship. Brewster gave me the opportunities to achieve that goal, but I worked hard every day to accomplish it. Brewster fueled my confidence that I could do really hard things. My transformtive moment was at our 10-year reunion, reconnecting with Josh, and then going to Uganda with him. We came back and started a nonprofit. FROM THAT MOMENT, MY LIFE HAS REALLY TAKEN OFF.

BREWSTER HELPED INSPIRE MY JOURNEY INTO THE LAW, and my family’s maple sugaring operation inspired my focus on climate. My teachers at Brewster gave me the confidence to build rapport with my professors in college and law school. I learned to be accountable for my academic journey. In my career, I want to make an impact on the highest levels of government, and law school is a critical next step to achieving that goal.
I was one of those kids who just didn’t care. BREWSTER TRANSFORMED ME
When I found myself struggling in AP U.S. History there and felt like I was failing again, I went home for break and got a phone call that literally changed my life.
My teacher, Mr. Fahy, just called to say, ‘You earned an A- on your last exam. I knew you had it in you. I believe in you.’ I think about that every day even now as I start a new venture. Brewster is really good at cultivating perseverance.
I never saw myself leading anything, let alone the student body, before Brewster. My freshman advisor encouraged me to go out for prefect. THAT KIND OF SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITY ARE THERE FOR EVERYONE AT BREWSTER . One thing we learn is how to take initiative. That propelled me forward academically in high school, opened doors for me in college, and helped me land my first job.
