Current president Bill Pease won back his spot with 34.72 percent of the town’s votes. Incumbent Mark Simon lost his seat to newcomer Bill Mayer. “I’m very honored to be re-elected and look forward to the next four years,” said Pease. “Discovery Bay is a great place to reside, and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure it stays that way.” Mayer will be serving residents alongside Pease, who garnered 23.15 percent of the vote, less than 1 percent ahead of third-place Simon, who had 22.51 percent. “I appreciate the community putting trust in me and my credentials,” Mayer said. “I’m looking forward to the challenges, and I’m anxious to get started and be part of this.” Mayer has plans to help smooth the way for the installation of roughly 3,500 water meters in Discovery Bay homes and improve the profitability of the community center.
