NEW DEALING WITH TOUGH LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES

NEW YOU CAN’T HEAR IF YOU’RE NOT LISTENING: ACTIVE LISTENING

One of the most important factors in any relationshipin the workplace or in our personal lives- is trust. Trust is the foundation for building strong teams, creating a positive work culture, and producing results. How do you build trust with people who are just getting to know you? To build trust, you must understand the basic components of trust.

Listening tends to be a passive exercise most of us do without thinking. Given all the listening that we do, you would think we’d be good at it! However, research shows that we only remember between 25 to 50 percent of what we hear. By becoming a better listener, you can improve your productivity, as well as your ability to influence, persuade and negotiate; not to mention, improve the opportunity to transform relationships and job performance.

NEW TIME MANAGEMENT FOR THE TIME CHALLENGED Each day only has so many hours. The better you can plan your time, the more successful you may be. In this course, we will explore personal and professional awareness, organization, and commitment to how we spend time. We’ll cover tools, methods, and techniques that can assist in goal setting, prioritization, scheduling, and delegation to overcome time management challenges and enhance productivity. NEW IF YOU WOULDN’T HIRE YOU, WHY SHOULD THEY? The past year has been tough, no doubt. Some have been laid off, furloughed, placed into different jobs than they had before. This activity has generated self-reflection over career pathing. Aside from the basic and obvious tasks that need to occur, one of the most important pieces of advice for all job seekers is: stop self-sabotaging yourself! If you show up to an interview and provide all the reasons why you’re not the right fit for the job, why would they hire you? It’s time to shift your focus and look for all of the things you DO have to offer in your next career. Tuition: $99 | Instructor: Sheri Bender Wed, 6:00- 9:00 pm | Oct 13, 2021

NEW THE DOUBLE PIVOT: POST-PANDEMIC PERSEVERANCE

NEW UNCONSCIOUS BIAS: IT STARTS WITH U

The global pandemic required many organizations to pivot in many places and spaces to adapt to a “new normal.” As society emerges from this crisis, organizations will be challenged to continue to stay keenly focused on serving their mission as they ramp back up to speed. Balancing what former practices need to be re-implemented and what new adjustments need long-term adoption is a pressing leadership challenge. This session focuses on what the pandemic taught us about our teams and provides critical insights on what continued success will look like moving forward.

We all have biases, whether we choose to recognize them or not. Unconscious bias happens automatically and is triggered by our brain making quick judgments and assessments of people or situations influenced by our background, cultural environment, and personal experiences. To build strong work teams, it is necessary to understand how these unconscious biases can influence behavior and impact us all. Join us to explore the importance of uncovering our own unconscious bias and how it can impact our decision and interactions.

NEW DIGITIZING YOUR ART FOR JUDGING Are you an artist wanting to properly digitize your work for competitions or gallery evaluations? Details matter! Most competitions and organizations that evaluate artwork for participation or shows require a photo of the piece, or samples of your work in a digital format. Their consideration is affected by the same criteria that you used to create the piece: the Hue, Saturation and the Luminance of the piece. In addition, because submissions are digitized, there are image size, resolution, file format, and naming specifications that must be met. A final criteria is that the perspective of the piece be accurate, ie, not skewed vertically or horizontally. Any deviation from these criteria leaves it up to the judges to decide on the true colors, tones, and perspective of the submission. It’s a brave, new world! Don’t miss this change towork with an expert, who excels in his work as a commercial photographer. Tuition: $159 | Instructor: Charles Almarez Thu, 9:00 am- 12:00 pm | Oct 14- Oct 28, 2021
