Mølbro Production A/S was founded in 1947 by Carl & Poul Møller and has been developing, designing and manufacturing wear parts for ploughs, harrows and other tillage implements ever since. So 75 years since the first ploughshares left production, we are now supplying customers all over the world.
Mølbro is still located near Sorø in Denmark and is Danish owned.
1947 1947 15 June 1947 Carl Hannibal Møller takes over V. Broby Smedie and founded Mølbro Plovskærsfabrik I/S together with his son Poul Hannibal Møller.
1960 The company had grown to 5 employees. Per Møller was born.
1981 A generation change begins and Per Møller enters Mølbro A/S financially.
1987 Poul Hannibal Møller passes away and Per Møller takes over the management of the company.
2018 Mølbro is taken over by private investors and is then called Mølbro Production A/S.
2022 75th anniversary. The company continues to manufacture quality wear parts and employs 35 people and exports more than 90% of its production.
Mølbro has been manufacturing wear parts for over 75 years! Throughout this period, we have developed our product ranges in line with our customers’ increasing demands for durability and precision so that we are constantly matching their requirements.
Over the 75 years, the focus has changed - productivity - precision - and now minimal energy consumption during work are just some of the issues that have occupied Mølbro’s developers over the years without compromising the requirement for high quality and long life of our wear parts.
Customer demands for accessibility and transparency have also changed significantly over the 75 years. Our product catalogue with photos, data and assembly instructions is still important for customers, but we are increasingly working with digital platforms. It should be easy to find and order the right wear part from Mølbro.
Our down-to-earth goal is to develop, manufacture and sell the best agricultural wear parts, so the industry can continue to produce food for the world’s ever-growing population with the greatest efficiency and the lowest possible use of resources.
Knud Rughave CEOMølbro manufactures high-quality wear parts for all leading plough brands such as Kverneland, Lemken, Kuhn and Överum. We offer several options, including Mølbro’s patented reversible M7 Fast-Fit points and a wide range of CARBIDEcoated wear parts.
We sell a wide range of harrow points, discs and similar wear parts with or without CARBIDE coating. For jobs in particularly demanding conditions, we also offer Mølbro’s own series of carbide-coated harrow points with an extremely long life.
Mølbro offers an extensive range of quality wear parts. In our catalogue, you can find the right wear part for your implement. There are typically several types for the same implement, so take your time to choose and get the right one for your soil type and cultivation strategy.
In the catalogue, you will also find assembly instructions, tightening torques, etc., so you can quickly change the parts and they will have maximum operational life.
Furthermore, we offer the market’s largest range of seed coulters and tubes for Väderstad seed drills, including stainless steel parts for fertilising.
You also get the right bolts when you buy wear parts from Mølbro. It is crucial that the bolts match the individual wear parts and it’s just as important that the bolts and nuts are of the same high quality as the wear parts. Then you know it will last.
We primarily supply our wear parts via leading wholesalers and machinery dealers, but we also supply original parts to companies that produce high-quality agricultural implements.
Mølbro stands on a foundation of 75 years of accumulated knowledge of wear parts for agricultural implements, steel processing and a tradition of high quality. We use high-quality steel and process, shape and harden it for individual purposes. With more than 800 fixtures and moulds in stock, we can produce a wide variety of wear parts with short lead times and entirely consistent quality. And with a dedicated workforce with long experience in steel machining, we are not afraid to take on new challenges from our partners around the world.
Our factory has many technologies - from simple and manpower-intensive machines to robotics. Some tasks can be automated, others cannot, and if you want to produce small batches of very specific wear parts, you need plenty of flexibility
30-50 tonnes of steel are delivered to Mølbro every week.
Approximately 2,000 tonnes of high-quality BOHR steel are used at Mølbro every year. The steel is mainly supplied by Swedish and German mills.
Induction-heated workpieces are formed in one of Mølbro’s 350-tonne spindle presses.
Induction heating is used for zone hardening and machining of many different workpieces.
Mølbro parts are laser-cut from special BOHR steel and must be heated, shaped and hardened in clean water.
Mølbro shares are specially shaped to minimise soil resistance at the tip and shares, minimising tractor traction requirements and saving fuel for the job.
Mølbro’s production uses robotic technology and traditional craftsmanship carried out by employees with extensive experience.
2-4 operations are performed on each of the 850-degree hot steel workpieces.
Mølbro wear parts are hardened in moulds and clean water to 48-52 RC hardness according to the Rockwell scale.
The hardening furnaces are heated with gas, which ensures a high, uniform hardening quality of the workpieces.
Most Mølbro parts are protected with environmentally friendly, water-based coatings that can be adapted to customerspecific requirements.
Each production run is test fitted and checked to ensure optimum fit and high quality.
Tungsten carbide coating is applied with great precision by robots. At Mølbro, we have about 800 moulds and fixtures for wear parts so that we can produce and deliver parts for a lot of ploughs, harrows and sowing machines. However, as we know, development never stops, so if you also want to have wear parts manufactured with exceptional durability, please contact us. Our knowledge of steel, tillage and practical solutions for the agriculture industry is greater than most, and we want to be challenged......
