Accurate feeding of fish

Daltec feeding systems promote sustainable fish farming onshore through gentle feed handling, optimal feed utilisation, and minimal energy consumption.

A Daltec dry feeding facility is made up of a number of components that can be assembled according to one’s current needs. They are all made of quality materials and with a focus on userfriendly operation, reliability, low energy consumption, and a long service life.

We develop our own software and interfaces. This makes it possible to individualise the controls as required.

Gentle feed transport with Daltec Cable and Daltec Friction Pull

The use of Daltec Cables in feed strings is the gentlest way to transport pelleted feed. It significantly reduces the formation of crumbs, which strengthens the utilisation of the feed and reduces the risk of deposition of feed residues in feed strings and machines. This optimises feed hygiene and reduces power consumption as carriers will not be forced through pipes clogged with dirt coatings. At the same time, the risk of mixing raw materials moved in the system, for example, is minimised. Daltec Cable can be provided with “click-on” brushes to optimise feed hygiene.

At Daltec we work with friction pull. It is a flexible and reliable method of transferring traction to the feed cables via their carrier discs. The friction pull absorbs possible changes in distance between the discs as a result of wear, and it is almost silent.

In the case of long feed strings, additional friction pull can easily be applied to relevant positions so that the power transfer is evenly distributed.

Daltec feed controller

Daltec’s 24-volt controller is controlled electronically to record the amount of feed or to start-stop, among other things. The controller is monitored electronically, and any alarms are displayed in Daltec DSM.

Electronic Feed Valves

An important element in our feeding facilities is Daltec’s feed valves. They are automatically opened and closed when the desired feed rations are sent to the current feeding location. The Daltec valves communicate with our controls and ensure that all feed types are delivered to the correct locations. All valves are connected to the internal network of the facility, so that any alarms or disturbances are quickly detected and communicated.

Daltec Feed Assistant Online+

Daltec Feed Assistant Online+ is the central control of the feed facility. Through a network and multiple sensors in the individual feed containers, it ensures both that fresh feed reaches the locations and compliance with the feeding plan. It can be operated either via the built-in display and menu system at the controller or connected to a PC with the Daltec System Manager.

Daltec Portion Feeding

Daltec has developed a feeding concept that makes it possible to assign individual feed types to individual locations. We call it “portion feeding.” Thanks to the intelligent controls of the system, the feed is taken from the relevant silos and transported to the feeding sites where the particular feed material, or a mix of several feed materials, is to be used. The system can be constructed as one long string with many individual valves or divided into one main string with secondary strings. With primary and secondary strings, great savings are achieved regarding reduced transport time, fewer operating hours on the individual strings, less electricity consumption, and less wear and tear.

Management with Daltec DSM Fish

Reliability and clarity are important factors in the management of a feeding facility. The day-to-day operation of a Daltec system can be controlled and monitored via our simple and manageable PC interface, known as the Daltec System Manager. Here you can set everything from feed profiles to quantities and feed types.

From the user interface, all data is automatically sent to the central feed controller. It then carries out the electrical control, coordination, and monitoring of all the components in the facility. While controlling the feed plant, Daltec DSM also provides an overview of the technical operation and collects historical data regarding the feed. We develop our own software and can adapt it to individual circumstances and needs.
