WHEN IS IT?

ANDYSMANCLUB is a free peer-to-peer group that provides a place for men to come together in a safe and open environment to talk about the issues or problems that they have faced or are currently facing.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

ANDYSMANCLUB meet every Monday at 7pm (excluding Bank Holiday Mondays).

WHERE IS IT?

The process is about bringing men together who have been in similar situations, to help each other on a peer to peer basis, sharing how they have dealt with various situations through lived experiences No matter how big or small your problem feels, we are here to support each other. The 5 questions that are asked each week are designed not only to encourage men to talk, but to start to focus on the positives and on strategies to keep moving forward. There is no pressure to answer any of the questions and it is not uncommon for men to just listen for the first few sessions. The clubs all run on the same format and adhere to the same guidelines. A key principle of ANDYSMANCLUB is anything that is said in the club, stays within the club

WHO IS IT FOR?

The club is open to any man 18 or over, who is going through a storm, been through a storm or just wants to meet a good group of people with the aim of improving one another.

ANDYSMANCLUB has clubs in many locations across the UK. Check our website below for a full list.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Just turn up on the night. No registration or referral is required, all we ask is that you arrive before 7pm. The full list of our locations is available on our website.

The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation is a charity set up in memory of Daniel Wilkinson who died in 2016 aged 24, while playing the game he loved, from an underlying heart condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC).

Dan played football from an early age and joined Hull City AFC when he was 10, earning a professional contract aged 18. Loughborough University followed where he completed a degree in Accounting and Financial Management while playing non-league football. He was an athlete who enjoyed the gym and took his health and nutrition very seriously. He lived life to the full and had so much ahead of him.

Other than feeling light-headed on a few occasions in the month before he died, he had no symptoms!

SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH IN THE YOUNG (SCD)

Warning signs may include light-headedness, fainting, palpitations, swollen legs, breathlessness. ARVC can be found in one in every 1,000 to 5,000 young adults - IF IT IS LOOKED FOR. SCD is the leading cause of death in young athletes during sport and the majority of deaths occur with NO SYMPTOMS or family history.

Every week in the UK, 12 apparently fit and healthy young people (aged 35 and under) die from previously undiagnosed heart conditions.

In Italy, where screening is mandatory for all young people engaged in organised sport, they have reduced the incidence of young sudden cardiac death by 89%.

OUR MISSION

The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation has been set up to raise awareness of SCD and to provide funding towards heart screening, defibrillators and CPR/defibrillator training primarily for grass-roots sporting teams.

Tragedies can be prevented through cardiac screening. It is vital that young people are identified and treated.

Finally made the permanent switch to the Holy Blues in the Summer of 2025, after joining the club towards the back end of the 2024/25 season. A Hull City academy graduate, the 23 year old. Former Wales Under 21 international stands at 1.92m and is a commanding presence. The third time Robbo has been at Trinity, the ‘keeper has also had loan spells at Farsley Celtic, Crawley and Darlington. He has also had short stints at Alfreton Town (most recently) and Rochdale.

Full Back/ Midfielder

A former youngster at nearby Scunthorpe United, George Hornshaw is a versatile member of the Gainsborough Trinity squad, capable of playing in both full back positions and in midfield, the Beverley born ‘baller will be looking for a more regular role this season.

Hornshaw is now in his third spell with the Holy Blues. Initially having joined on loan from the Iron, George has gone on to rack up more than a century of appearances for Gainsborough. His spells were interspersed with a spell at Farsley Celtic, before linking back up with the Blues, when Neal Bishop came calling. A regular at right wing back under Bishop and Russ Wilcox, but a short spell away from the beautiful game ended when he was a surprise addition to the Hednesford Town matchday squad. Scoring his penalty in the tense penalty shootout.

Aaron Simpson

Right Back

An experienced defender, though still only 28, Aaron Simpson started his career with Maidstone United, catching the eye of scouts at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Simpson didn’t go on to appear in the Premier League, but went out on loan at Portsmouth and AFC Telford United. He spent time on loan at Kilmarnock, before spells at Dover Athletic in the National League, helping Sutton United to the football league. He was a regular for Salisbury, prior to joining the Holy Blues, helping them win promotion from Step 3 (the equivalent level to Gainsborough, but down south). Relocating to Barnsley, last summer, Simpson impressed on trial with Trinity, earning himself a deal for the 2024/25 season, going on to make 47 appearances in Gainsborough colours.

Right Back/ Right Wing Back

Previously of Lincolnshire neighbours Grantham Town, where he worked his way through their Academy to first team level. Playing in the Northern Premier League as a teenager. Whilst with the Gingerbreads, Tuntulwana worked withFirst Team Coach, Kevin Pressman. Sisa has since developed into an athletic, attacking wingback, with an eye for goal. Also appeared for Boston Town during the last campaign. A popular member of the Gainsborough side, with his high energy, directness. Has shown his versatility, also appearing at centre back during his first campaign with the Holy Blues. Now entering his second season with Trinity.

Ashley Jackson

One of the more senior faces in the squad, the experienced and versatile left-sided defender, Ash Jackson, was one of Russ Wilcox’s first signings. Initially joining on loan from Vanarama National League North side Scarborough Athletic, before Trinity insisted on making the move permanent. A popular player with his former clubs, Jackson chipped in with some important goals, including a 93rd minute winner away at Whitby Town. Also scored against one of his former clubs, Boston, helping Trinity on their way to the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Defender

A strong, experienced centre back (27), who started his career at Nottingham Forest, where he went on loans to Lincoln City and Port Vale, before making his move to Port Vale permanent. Joined from York City in the Summer of 2025, looking to prepare himself for life after football. Helped York to the play-offs, and had previously been a key cog that saw fellow Lincolnshire side Grimsby Town return to the football league. A leader, on and off the pitch, Crookes will be looking to add his experience to a young Gainsborough side looking to take the next step.

Defender

Harrison joined the Holy Blues for an undisclosed fee, from NPL rivals Lancaster City. Spent time with Trinity in pre-season before he moved to the Dolly Blues after a successful season at Step 3 the season before, with Whitby Town. Good in both boxes, Beeden is a highly thought of, young central defender, capable of chipping in with goals from set pieces, as well as keeping them out at the other end.

Will Lancaster

Defender

A talented defender, Will initially joined the Holy Blues on the eve of the 2024/25 season. Almost ever present at centre back, Lancaster captained the team on occasions, and won multiple awards at the end season presentation night. Scored on his home debut, in a 3-1 win over Morpeth Town. Comfortable on the ball, and capable of chipping in with vital goals. None more so than the 90+6 minute equaliser away at Hednesford Town that sealed the most remarkable of comebacks, helping the Holy Blues make the Second Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time in nearly eighty years.

Bobby Johnson

Midfielder

Now entering his third season at Gainsborough, the vastly experienced, Bawtrybased baller, Bobby Johnson adds experience and non-league nous to the side managed by Russ Wilcox. Signed in the Summer of 2023 having helped Farsley Celtic secure their Vanarama National League North status, Johnson has a wealth of experience at Step 2 of the Non-League Pyramid. With more than four years at Alfreton Town, where he scored a number of spectacular goals. Adapting his game, as he now plays deeper, Bobby plays a valuable role in the midfield engine room, where his quality on the ball, helps to control the tempo of games.

Jordan Helliwell

Midfielder

Former Barnsley youngster, Jordan Helliwell was a 2024/25 close season signing by Manager, Russ Wilcox. Capable of producing both at right back, and in central midfield,

Helliwell gained experience in the Danish league set up during his time with Barnsley. A busy, energetic player who looks to get Trinity ticking, Jordan had gained non-league experience at league rivals Basford United, but was an incredible pick up from Step 6 football, going on to make 55 competitive appearances in what can be called his breakthrough season. Jordan scored on his home debut, in a 3-1 victory against Morpeth Town.

Lewis Butroid

Returned to the club in the Summer of 2023, having helped Farsley Celtic secure their Vanarama National League North status. A local Gainsborough lad, left footer Lewis knows what it takes to pull on the blue shirt. Made his breakthrough at Scunthorpe United during their football league days, and gained further experience at Spenymoor and Hereford. In his previous spell with the Holy Blues, he netted his maiden goal in the 1-1 draw with Radcliffe at the Northolme.

Fraser Preston

Attacking Midfielder

Sheffield Wednesday Academy graduate, Fraser Preston put his injury nightmare behind him in 2024/25 as an ever present in Russ Wilcox’s starting line up. A clever, creative player, with good upper body strength, he can link the play and possesses the vision and ability to unlock opposition defences. A former Scotland Youth international, Preston comes from a footballing family, with older brother Jordan having played for the likes of Boston United and FC United of Manchester; and younger brother Jarvis (Thornton) having captained the Sheffield Wednesday U18s, Fraser has also played for Boston United and Alfreton Town. The latter of whom he played for prior to joining Gainsborough.

Attacking Midfielder

Initially spent the 2022/23 season on loan from Rotherham United, where the attacking midfielder contributed 20+ goal involvements. Following his return to the Millers, Curtis spent time out on loan at Scarborough Athletic in the league above, before joining Matlock Town on loan.

In the Summer of 2024/25, he made the permanent switch to Matlock, following his release from Rotherham. A change in manager saw Durose jump at the chance to link back up with the Holy Blues. unfortunately for Curtis, he was cup-tied as Trinity went deep in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Javelle Clarke

Attacking Midfielder/ Forward

An exciting, attacking talent, comfortable across the front line, chipped in with a number of important goals and assists, before his season was ended in unfortunate circumstances just before Christmas. Returned to fitness in late September, having missed almost a years’ worth of football Javelle wasted little time in making up for his missing time, scoring on his competitive return against Clitheroe.

Striker

Prolific forward Jonny Margetts rejoined the Holy Blues following a spell at National League side Kings Lynn Town. Returning to the Holy Blues in the summer of 2025, Margetts has been a prolific striker at the likes of Matlock Town, Stamford AFC, Belper Town & Frickley Athletic. Jonny will be looking to get amongst the goals and fire Trinity up the table. First played for Gainsborough back in 2014, when he joined the club on loan from Hull City. Margetts has also pulled on the shirts of Lincoln City, Boston United & Scunthorpe United, bringing with him a wealth of experience.

Striker

Signed following his release by Enterprize National League North side Scarborough Athletic, linking up again with boss Russ Wilcox, with whom he played under for Farsley Celtic back in 2022/23. An aggressive, all action forward, who started his career as a youngster at Leeds United. Has gained valuable experience at Step 1 and 2 of the pyramid at the likes of Stockport County, Alfreton Town and Boston United, as well as whilst at Farsley. Capable of scoring spectacular goals, Frank adds a different dynamic to the Holy Blues’ attacking options.

Former York City Scholar, Twenty year old Jacob first linked up with the Holy Blues in the pre-season of 2024/25. Identifying his potential, Trinity boss Russ Wilcox enlisted the help of Club Thorne to nuture this bright young talent. Providing him with regular game time. Jacob quickly adapted to life at Thorne, improving week on week. He secured the Players Player of the Year Award in his first season in senior, men’s football. And also continued to train with Gainsborough, being involved in Trinity’s remarkable cup runs. Now having signed a contract for 2025/26, Jacob is looking to kick on.
