Ages 3-6 years with an adult Join a naturalist the second Saturday of the month, who will first read two stories to the children and then lead the group in an activity (a hike or craft, weather dependent) themed to match the stories. Turtle Tales

All ages 3-6 with an adult Journey into the world of turtles with information about the types of turtles of Illinois and their natural history. Program includes an opportunity to meet our resident turtles, play turtle games, and make a turtle craft. Critter Tracks

Ages 7 years & up Discover what critters are making tracks at Hidden Oaks this winter. After receiving a tracking guide of winter tracks and animal signs we will explore the woodland. Through our discoveries we will determine who has been here and what they were doing. Participants will make a track to take home to remind them of our adventures. Buckthorn Hiking Sticks

Ages 7 years & up Create a buckthorn hiking stick. Learn about invasive species, how to identify buckthorn shrubs, and why it’s important to remove them from the Natural Areas. Nature Knitting Circle

Ages 16 years & up In this series we socialize, and work on a knitting project. For beginners, we will give you a beginner pattern, or if you have a pattern help you get started. All skills welcome. Please bring a set of needles and your favorite yarn if you have them. The nature center has limited supplies. Spring Birding

Ages 18 years & up Come join us as we learn about common birds in the area and how to identify them by sight and sound.
