New Student Welcome July 3 Event Guide

Hello!

We’re really excited to welcome you to our vibrant Poole Campus for New Student Welcome!

You’ll have the opportunity to meet your tutor, get to know your classmates, enjoy the festivities and kick off your journey at Bournemouth and Poole College!

What to Expect

Arrival and Check-In

When you arrive to our Poole Campus, head straight to the welcome desk outside of reception to sign and collect your goody bag to start your student journey.

Course Activities

(1.5 hours)

Join your chosen course area for your introduction. You’ll meet your lecturers, get key information about your curriculum area and get to know your new classmates.

Lunch and Festivities

After your session, enjoy free time over lunch to explore all of the exciting festivities and stalls around campus.

Event Ends at 2pm

Our event officially ends at 2pm, however you are free to leave whenever you please during the lunch period.

Arrival Times

Your designated arrival time is listed here. We please ask that you do not arrive earlier than this to ensure a smooth flow of students through the college.

Getting to the College

We’re proud to say that our Poole campus is easily accessible by both bus and train, making it simple for you to join us at our New Student Welcome.

Bus Routes

Our campus is well-connected by local bus services, stopping just outside of our main entrance. Whether you’re coming from the town centre, or nearby locations, there’s likely a direct or connecting bus route for you.

M1: Poole to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, serving: Parkstone, Westbourne, Bournemouth and Castlepoint.

M2: Poole to Southbourne, serving: Parkstone, Westbourne, Bournemouth and Boscombe.

20: Poole to Castlepoint, serving: Poole, Parkstone, Branksome, Westbourne, Charminster and Muscliff.

15: Poole to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, serving: Parkstone, Wallisdown, Winton, Moordown and Castlepoint.

All single bus fares are currently just £2, whilst young people can get unlimited bus travel in Zone A for as little as £1.75 per day for unlimited trips, very verification through the MoreBus App.

Train Stations

We’re fortunate to be situated by two train stations, making travel by rail incredibly easy. Both stations are within walking distance of the college, offering fast connections to and from surrounding areas.

Parkstone Train Station:

Just a 15-minute walk from campus, with direct services from Weymouth and London Waterloo.

Poole Train Station:

A mile from our Poole Campus, with a taxi rank just outside platform 1.
