Framträdande för Beth Laurins konstnärskap är en stor frihet i såväl tematik som val av tekniker, material och uttryck. Del 1 (1971-1972) är gjord i glasfiberarmerad polyester och ytan är tydligt marmorerad. Den stora skulpturen stod länge på Nybroplan i Stockholm och döptes i folkmun till ”korven”. Del 1 (Part 1) Since her début exhibition at Galleri Mejan in 1974, Beth Laurin’s art has aroused interest, surprised, alarmed and entertained. Over the years she has looked into numerous different modes of expression, not least through sculptures in all conceivable materials. Characteristic of Beth Laurin’s art is a great freedom in her choice of motifs as well as her choice of techniques, materials and interpretation. Del 1 (1971/1972) is executed in glass reinforced polyester with distinct marbling on its surface. This large sculpture was located at Nybroplan in Stockholm for a long time and was popularly referred to as ”the sausage”.
