Happy Christmas

A MESSAGE FROM OUR TOWN HALL in SANTA POLA to the people of SANTA POLA and GRAN ALACANT. CAMPAIGN OF AWARENESS ABOUT CLEANLINESS GRAFFITI, NOT ALWAYS ART At this time we are going to talk about a large number of posters and advertisements that appear posted on our street lamps, street furniture and façades. The town hall, is constantly cleaning up every street lamp of our town because they are usually full of papers, blobs and even graffiti. It is a laborious task carried out by the workers of the municipal cleaning dealer company. Then, we put a notice on some of them warning not to make dirty according to our cleaning ordinance. Unfortunately, there are still inconsiderate people who do not respect the others’ work and continue sticking up posters anywhere, apart from the advertising invasion that comes up on windscreens or thrown on the ground. That is why let’s remember what our cleaning ordinance says in its article 25, title VIII: “The individuals or legal entities in whose favour advertising is done, as well as those who promote, manage or carry out the placement of the posters will be held responsible for the offence”. Article 26: “The individuals or legal entities in whose favour advertising is done, as well as those who promote, manage or carry out the delivery will be held responsible for the dirtiness produced by the distribution of leaflets which are not delivered by hand, are delivered outside mail boxes, or outside the boxes especially set up for such effect by the neighbours or owners’ community”. Neither must we forget the so-called graffiti that appears anywhere, either public or private locations, making dirt façades, furniture and even vehicles, and consequently causing a regrettable image of our city on the basis of we do not know what kind of art or merit that the authors find there. Perhaps if their desconsiderate authors had to clean them up with their own hands, they would think it over before doing such vandalism acts. Regarding graffiti, our municipal ordinance says, article 27, title IX: “It is forbidden to do any kind of painting in public streets, whether they are drawn on structural elements, roadways, pavements and street furniture or whether they are drawn on exterior walls”.
