Leigh Renard, Property Manager Cushman & Wakefield
Cushman & Wakefield Property Manager Leigh Renard stays busy overseeing an industrial portfolio of more than 1.5 million square feet for multiple clients. She likes the challenges of problem-solving and collaborating with her team to fix issues at the properties. “I also enjoy learning about the tenants’ operations that are taking place at the property,” she adds. “From cabinet makers to coffee roasters, food transporters and donut operations…getting to know the tenants and their operations is really interesting and definitely boosts tenant relations. I’ve always been curious about how things are made, so that part is a fun bonus.” Renard’s days are a balance between meeting the needs of tenants, keeping the client happy, and working with vendors to complete projects in a timely manner. As she describes: “There’s the monthly routine of accounting mixed in with the chaos that construction or weather issues can bring...there’s no monotony here.” Renard enjoys weekend and international adventures. Since moving from BOMA San Francisco to BOMA OEB in 2014, Renard has chaired both the Community Outreach Committee and the Emergency Preparedness Committee. She is now serving on the BOMA OEB Board of Directors. Her commercial real estate career began soon after she graduated from Cal State Sacramento, when a friend introduced her to the property management field. “I really enjoyed learning an industry I literally knew nothing about. It was a natural fit, and I’ve continued to learn since then.” Renard finds a variety of ways to unwind. “Cooking really is my passion, and I am always cooking for my friends and family. I’ve even started an Instagram just for my cooking and food adventures (@glutenfreeleigh),” she says. “I also have a travel bug and try to get away whenever I can. Last year I went to Mexico and was out of town almost every other weekend. This year I’m slowing down a bit, but hopefully will go international by year’s end.”
