About me
Industrial design engineer with a passion for user-centred design
I am very passionate about sustainable and inclusive design and I am always looking for new and exciting design opportunities to enhance the everyday life of the user or a way to transform a waste material into a product. I find inspiration in art, nature and the small details of everyday life.
Outside of design I enjoy rollerblading, growing crops in my allotment garden and learning new hobbies.
I hope this portfolio finds you well. Best regards

The speaker that fits 3 generations
Lunar is a series of modular speakers designed to integrate the sound system as part of the interior and meet the needs of different generations. Lunar One is for parents and focuses on gadget features and interior. Lunar Home is for grandparents and emphasizes a simple and easy-to-use interactive interface. Lunar Move is for teenagers, offering them the ability to bring the speaker along when going out.

The design of Lunar was a highly iterative process, involving several sketches, mock-ups, and user group testing to refine its form and functionality, providing valuable insights into how users would interact with the product. The final design is intended to be crafted from steam-bent oak wood, followed by precise shaping using a 5-axis CNC machine. However, to evaluate the size, look, and user interaction of the speaker early in the process, a full-scale prototype in different materials was presented.

The Lunar speaker´s product architecture is designed with modularity in mind, aiming to minimize production costs. By using the handle from the Lunar Move version as a shared interface across the other two versions of the speaker, the design simplifies manufacturing. This approach of designing for manufacturing, not only reduces costs but also contributes to sustainability, ensuring that production runs can be more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Conceptual redesign of Speaker-lamp
During my internship at Kreafunk, a small easy-tech company, they wanted help redesigning their speaker-lamp aLOOMI, as sales had been underwhelming, and they were looking for something more commercially appealing. The result is aLOOMI 2.0. The inspiration comes from Japanese Kokeshi dolls, with the intention of creating a personalized product, though a neutral version is also available. The product is expected to be launched in the near future.

The lower part of aLOOMI 2.0 houses the sound-producing components. By pinching the upper part of the speaker-lamp, the light can be adjusted as desired.

Self-produced stool of sustainable materials
The Trazz stool is a result of an introduction to entrepreneurship and Lean Startup, where 20 products should be defined, designed and developed and sold within 10 days. The colorful stools were produced through collaboration with stakeholders and were sold in limited editions due to the unpredictable patterns of the materials, and were marketed as coffee tables, nightstands, and plant holders. They sold out before they even hit the market, through online orders via social media.

The Trazz Stool is a sustainable piece of furniture made by hand from leftover materials, with the seat created from recycled bottles cast in cement and the frame made from upcycled Ikea stools. It was developed with a focus on selling them to women that are interested in sustainability.

Nursing solution for twin mothers
Sprout is a nursing solution designed to assist twin mothers in tandem breastfeeding, transforming what is typically a stressful and time-consuming process into a comfortable and intimate experience focused on the relationship between mother andchildren. Additionally, the semi-stationary solution facilitates independent breastfeeding both at home and in the hospital.

bolette henneberg - portfolio 2025 - Sprout

Through research and extensive interviews with healthcare professionals, the concept of Sprout was developed. Twin mothers hospitalized in Danish neonatal wards often struggle with breastfeeding properly due to a lack of comfort, which can lead to longer hospital stays and make an already stressful situation even more challenging.

The design of Sprout involved countless proposals being sketched, mocked up, and tested in an iterative process with healthcare professionals at Aalborg University Hospital, as well as twin mothers, to ensure the best possible solution for the identified problem along with testing the durability and strenght of the material chosen.

Impervius First Aid Kit

Group semester project 2023
First Ait Kit made from waste material
This first aid kit utilizes PVC fabric waste, otherwise destined for disposal, to create a product that takes full advantage of the material’s properties. PVC is highly suitable for a first aid kit in the wet environment of SUP-boarding, where no dedicated safety equipment currently exists. The design focuses on modularity to support a business model that sells individual components, allowing customization for various other sports activities.

bolette henneberg - portfolio 2025 - Impervius

Several companies were visited in search of waste materials before deciding on PVC fabric sourced from a local supplier, where 1 ton of material is paid to be disposed of each year. Initial interviews and research resulted in an iterative process of testing different mockups on expert users, leading to the final product proposal.

CargoLift
CargoLift is a custom-designed lift for cargo bikes, developed in close collaboration with a local bike mechanic. The detachable frame ensures that the lift occupies minimal space when not in use, while a motorized system raises the bike to the optimal height. This innovative solution addresses a common challenge in servicing cargo bikes: providing an ergonomic working position for bike mechanics.

bolette henneberg - portfolio 2025 -CargoLift

Research with local bike mechanics highlighted issues like limited space and poor ergonomics when servicing cargo bikes, a in cities. Cardboard mockups and prototypes were tested with users to refine weight, scale, and usability, leading to the final solution.
