Puebla de los Ángeles, World Heritage City, is one of the most requested wedding destinations in Mexico due to its cultural, historical and gastronomic richness. Just 30 minutes from downtown Puebla is the Great Pyramid of Cholula, considered the most voluminous pyramid building on the planet (4,500 cubic meters), and to check if you will be able to enter the tunnels that cross it. On the top is the Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies, which stars many postcards.

Angelópolis is the commercial and business district of the capital of Puebla. In addition to shopping, it is convenient to visit it to climb La Estrella de Puebla, an 80-meter fortune wheel that gives panoramic views of the city. In the Cerro de Guadalupe, to the northeast, you will get wonderful panoramic views of the city. Otro templo ineludible es la Capilla del Rosario, decorada con intrincados retablos recubiertos con hoja de oro.

Sorpréndanse con el acervo de la Biblioteca Palafoxiana, un recinto que alberga más de 45,000 libros, muchos de ellos pintados a mano y con una antigüedad de más de 500 años. Continúen su cita con la cultura en el Museo Amparo y admiren sus colecciones de arte prehispánico y virreinal. Hagan otra parada para apreciar los viejos trenes del Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos, o asómense a la colección de muebles, cristales, plata y talavera que ostenta el Museo José Luis Bello y González.

A tan solo 30 minutos del centro de Puebla se encuentra la Gran Pirámide de Cholula, considerada la edificación piramidal más voluminosa del planeta (4 mil 500 metros cúbicos). Para comprobarlo podrán penetrar en los túneles que la atraviesan. En la cima está el Santuario de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, que protagoniza muchas postales.

Angelópolis es el distrito comercial y de negocios de la capital poblana. Además de hacer shopping, conviene visitarlo para subir a La Estrella de Puebla, una rueda de la fortuna de 80 metros que regala panorámicas de la urbe. Después, acudan al Museo Internacional del Barroco diseñado por Toyo Ito, arquitecto ganador del premio Pritzker.

En el Cerro de Guadalupe, al noreste, también se obtienen bonitas vistas metropolitanas. Aprovechen que están en la cima y suban al Teleférico de Puebla, de preferencia al atardecer; por su ubicación y trayectoria, verán el sol esconderse detrás de los volcanes Popocatépetl e Iztaccíhuatl. Una vez que desciendan, vayan a la Plaza Mayor y disfruten su animado ambiente nocturno.

Celebrar su matrimonio en alguna de las mansiones coloniales del Centro Histórico de Puebla es una gran idea. Con velas e iluminación tenue, el Hotel Casareyna crea en su patio una atmósfera romántica para su banquete. Si quieren tener el cielo por techo, están las terrazas de el Hoteles El Sueño o La Quinta Esencia Hotel Boutique. Si buscan haciendas la de San Juan Bautista Amalucan, a ocho km al oriente de la ciudad de Puebla, es una excelente opción. Así como al suroeste, en Atlixco, la Ex Hacienda San Agustín o la Ex Fábrica La Carolina. En el Hotel Misión Grand Ex Hacienda Chautla, a 50 minutos al norte de Puebla, se pueden casar en un entorno natural única y rodeado de palacetes, lagos y bosques.
